QUBIT"In quantum computing, a qubit (/ˈkjuːbɪt/) or quantum bit is the basic unit of quantum information—the quantum version of the classic binary bit physically realized with a two-state device. A qubit is a two-state (or two-level) quantum-mechanical system, one of the simplest quantum systems displaying the peculiarity of quantum mechanics. Examples include the spin of the electron in which the two levels can be taken as spin up and spin down; or the polarization of a single photon in which the two states can be taken to be the vertical polarization and the horizontal polarization. In a classical system, a bit would have to be in one state or the other. However, quantum mechanics allows the qubit to be in a coherent superposition of both states simultaneously, a property that is fundamental to quantum mechanics and quantum computing.

Quantum computing is beginning to seem like fusion power. One of those things that will always be ten years in the future.

...Most internet security measures now rely on the fact that “cracking the code” takes an inordinate amount of time as computers crunch big numbers. Quantum computers, on the other hand, will be able to handle this information swiftly, leaving our computers, financial firms, and private information exposed... ...not to mention the bitcoin market - the first group to get quantum computing up & running could potentially 'mine' a gazzillion bitcoin bucks overnight, reducing the value to essentially zero...

Don’t hold your breath though. I think I’ve been hearing quantum computing is right around the corner for like 25 years. If it ever works yeah it’ll be a revolution. But...

...not to mention the bitcoin market - the first group to get quantum computing up & running could potentially 'mine' a gazzillion bitcoin bucks overnight, reducing the value to essentially zero.. There can only ever be 21,000,000 bitcoins.
19,000,000 have already been mined.
2,000,000 / 21,000,000 x 100 = 9.5%
9.5% more bitcoins won't change anything.

Traffic control and improve weather predictions won’t change as politicians will deliberately create chaos. Weather data now is being lied about for the ‘global baloney’ scam.

OK, I have 100 boxes with 100 cats sealed in them. Originally they were one per box, but due to quantum tunnelling some boxes are empty and some have multiple cats. How can I use this to calculate tonight’s lottery numbers?

With QC, your OS can crash and relaunch so quickly, you won’t even notice! BSOD’s become a thing of the past.

That just looks like maybe they will be able build machines that use something besides binary digital logic. The solution of problems is still in the software, assuming the software engineers can understand the problem and express the solution.
