We often post stories about the dysfunctional island of Manhattan. Years of Democrat control and radical leftist policies have turned the once-proud city into a cesspool of crime and depravity. The people are confused and do not seem to have their priorities aligned with protecting themselves, let alone the city itself. It’s as if they’ve given up on normal life and accepted the defeat of crime, filth, and destitution.
Long-time resident and political pundit Jedediah Bila will be leaving the city soon. But while she’s there she’s still engaged with day-to-day life in the Big Apple. Unfortunately, that life has become insane, which is why she’s moving her family to freer pastures in Florida.
“Woman outside in Manhattan this morning was outraged that someone next to her in line wasn’t wearing a mask. OUTSIDE. She was infinitely less bothered by the guy pissing on a building just steps away. Residents of this city have lost their bleeping minds.”
If a woman screams at me for not wearing a mask, I will proceed to fart in her general direction
It wasn’t “years” of leftist policies, it basically all started around 2012 when De Blasio took over. Even Bloomberg, for all his warts, kept the city running after Guiliani’s spectacular terms.
Back in 1994 I was helping a friend in a Republican campaign in San Francisco (different times). During a “show the flag” counter-demo by Republican volunteers during a Kathleen Brown rally, we were counter-counter protested by what were probably the ancestors of antifa, and roughly handled. One of those characters could not move me, so he very deliberately peed on my shoes. I was so amazed I didn’t move.
I suggest that, in cases like this, you can pee on the offenders shoes.
;>)
Wonder why her parents decided to name her Jedediah.
Well, they did name her brother “Sue.” 🤡
You weren't around for John Lindsey and David Dinkins, but even if you were you would have missed the obvious in pursuit of the insane.
Her father Sue had a wicked sense of humor.
That’s a decade which indeed is years
Once Rudy took over though, that killed it. NYC was in a renaissance. Bloomberg continued it.
So, it all started with De Blasio. You can't count the crap that happened before Rudy.
Not in the statistical sense.
Has anyone tried to write a book explaining why (clinically and philosophically) New Yorkers are indifferent to corruption, crime, honor, filth, destructive drug use, and pervasive nastiness?
Sure I can count it. I lived it. You're talking to someone who took the B41, Flatbush Ave bus to Ebbets Field. No one on the board knows more about the Rise and Fall of NYC than I do. But who am I to disagree with you, a self proclaimed expert?
Start with Kitty Genovese and work forward to Bernie Goetz.
You may have lived it, but it's irrelevant because Rudy & Bloomberg cleaned the city up.
Now you have a new generation that grew up post-911. They only know what they know when De Blasio assumed power and that's where the starting point has to be.
It's the equivalent of whites being guilty of racism and slavery over 150 years ago.
Rudy & Bloomberg provided a patina layer of sanity over decades of corrosive liberalism. The rot was always there, just beneath the surface. Their transitory success was largely related to roaring national economy. But you keep spinning your wheels. You know it all.
I guess the woman wasn’t pissed on enough to care about the guy. But no mask and she’s as angry as hell.
My wife will tell you, I don’t need to aim.
Welcome to Florida, Jedediah.
