A little before 5 pm on Monday, March 14, the Ohio Governor signed SP 215 into law. With the addition of Ohio, there are now 23 states in the Constitutional Carry club.
At approximately 4:50 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, Gov. Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 215, which will make it legal to carry a concealed handgun without a license in Ohio 91 days after signing.
“This is a day that will go down in history,” said Dean Rieck, Executive Director of Buckeye Firearms Association. “It has been about 18 years since Ohio enacted HB 12 to bring licensed concealed carry to the state.”
According to the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, here is a summary of the effects of the law:

A very good thing.
Now if Indiana, Georgia and Nebraska would jump on the band wagon.
We have over 50% before the supreme court issues a ruling in the NY rifle and pistol case.
Great! But I still urge people to get their carry permit so that if you are stopped by the police, they know that you are unlikely to be a bad guy.

If the police think you’re a bad guy because you’re carrying a gun, which is 100% legal, then they’re the bad guys.

Speak for yourself. As an Ohioan and former military, I refused to to play circus monkey and jump through their hoops, join their database and agree to their terms and infringements on my constitutional right to carry a firearm.
Ohio is also an open carry state, so really you could always walk around with whatever you like, just don’t put on a sweatshirt and hide it or you find yourself afoul of foolish provisions.
Can we get it to 38 and pass an amendment?
Great news.
We need an updated map...
Many thanks!
How do I get it to stop and stay on 2022?
Indiana
Georgia
Nebraska
Louisiana and Pennsylvania both passed bills in the last year which were vetoed by their respective Democrat governors, although they passed with large majorities.
37-38 is about what we can expect at max, without Supreme Court intervention.
Hawaii, California, Illinois, Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts are strongly anti Second Amendment.
Washington and Oregon are very tough.
Minnesota might be possible, but very difficult.
Colorado seems to be getting more blue, making it difficult.
New Mexico might be possible, perhaps a little less difficult than Minnesota.
There are two main reasons to get a CCW.
The first is it acts like a instant check on Ohio when you got to purchase a new weapon.
They second reason is if you travel out of state, the permit is recognized by most other states so you won’t be defenseless if the Statue doesn’t allow carry without a permit.

That is about the only benefit I see.
As former military member, I have THAT military record, which ALWAYS delays my purchases. That is maddening, but I can wait; I’m sufficiently stocked, so anything else I buy is just for fun.

Florida, too, but RINOs down here are blocking it.
I read through the bill very quickly - there was some language about vessels, which was used in place of vehicle throughout, that at first glance appeared to be restrictive.
I have to go back and read it more carefully to fully understand it.
laws should be more easily understood.....
