Put a Fork in Seattle

When Detroiters are laughing at your city, you know you’ve made a mistake.

I grew up in the Motor City and I have no sympathy for what used to be Seattle. Detroit’s death was drawn out over years and involved a perfect storm of nonsense, including foolish decisions by auto execs, stupid import/export laws, and a corrupt mayor named Coleman A. Young. Detroit languished. Seattle was executed.

Hundreds of local Seattle businesses are leaving, and Seattle residents have no one to blame except voters and the communists they’ve elected.

FACT-O-RAMA! Commies do not make things better, ever. You can’t point to a pinko success story. Don’t pretend Seattle voters had no idea what was going to happen. They killed a once-great city. They need to own it and tell their kids what they did to their home town.

Damn shame. A beautiful city by Puget Sound with Lake Washington to the east. There was news yesterday that Amazon is relocating its HQ out of downtown Seattle due to crime and the crazy homeless and druggies.

I took a European trip a couple of months ago, Berlin and Copenhagen. Both were beautiful, clean, easy to get around in, and I felt totally safe. Sure there were a few homeless and beggars but nothing to compare with what I see in the Northeastern cities I frequent.

I’m convinced that one of the absolutely necessary features of a great city in a free nation is that it must get cold enough to kill you for at least three months of the year. That kind of daunting climate tends to keep most mutants and zombies away.

If you give me a thousand men of my choosing and a free hand I could straighten it out. :)

By that definition, none of the cities in Florida, Texas (except Amarillo or Lubbock), and Arizona would fail the test. Ditto for Atlanta, Charlotte, and New Orleans.

I worked in Seattle for 21 years. Attended two private university’s there Graduated from one of them.
So I know Seattle just a little bit.
Problem is very simply Democrats.
If they have no opposition, they schiff in their bed and then wallow in it. They can’t help it.
All the opposition, got tired of the BS and left. Those who could afford it moved to the suburbs and abandoned down town.

Served a 15 year sentence as a Tier One capital equipment supplier to GM/Ford/Chrysler, so while I’m not a native I can confirm the facts of Detroit’s decline. Many more years ago I often visited Seattle on business (Boeing) and loved the place. Very sad. Friend in Idaho is bemoaning the flood of ex-Seattlites bringing their leftist arrogance to her locale. Only good thing about it is that she’ll make a killing when she sells her house. Prices have quadrupled and more in the last 3 years.

I always wonder when I see local news casts from Detroit as to what they must be thinking about their sinking city? Cincinnati is another city that is smaller than it was in the 1950s.

And no comment nor action from the silly council to get the wheels back on. Only actions to further weaken the city in the name of “equality”

All you need to do is have a police force, mayor, and DA willing to enforce and uphold the law

Same holds nationwide

A study was conducted by Axios-Generation Lab Next Cities Index, which “tracks rising U.S. work and culture trends through geographic preferences.” It surveyed 2,109 college students from two-year and four-year schools across the country in “two waves” — from Nov. 18, 2021 to Feb. 14, 2022.

More college men want to live in the Emerald City (Seattle), the study found. And those who identified as Independent was the the top political party favoring Seattle for these students. Women favored Seattle second, with New York, first.

Name for me, one Republican city that is a total $hithole like Detroit or San Francisco, or Milwaukie WI or Chicago or Minneapolis or Newark NJ, or Camden NJ or Gary IN or Hartford CT. I could go on and on.

In fact the 20 most populated cities in the USA are mostly $hithole, democrat run cities. Why can’t people realize the problem is democrats.
