Rebecca Kleefisch met with former President Donald Trump this week at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Wisconsin Right Now can exclusively report.
Kleefisch, the former lieutenant governor, is running in the Republican primary for governor. Trump has still not endorsed anyone in the Republican primary for governor. A Trump endorsement would be a game-changer in the primary race, of course.
On Friday, March 11, 2022, Wisconsin Right Now heard about the Kleefisch-Trump meeting from two well-placed sources. Our sources are not close to the Kleefisch campaign. The Kleefisch campaign could not be reached for comment. Word had already spread that Kleefisch was in Florida for a fundraiser before the sources told us that she met personally with Trump. Kleefisch’s social media has been silent on the matter.
Earlier in the year, Trump dropped a grenade into the middle of the Wisconsin governor’s race, when he openly urged former Congressman Sean Duffy to run for governor against Democrat Tony Evers. That was perceived in some corners as a sign that he wasn’t sold on Kleefisch. However, Duffy then announced that he would not be running. Another source indicated that some believe Trump wants to meet with all of the candidates and he meets with candidates all over the country a lot, and that Kleefisch was in Naples for a fundraiser first.
When he was president, Trump appointed Kleefisch to the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission. In 2020, she participated in a Women for Trump bus tour. However, in 2016, Kleefisch stepped down from being a delegate at the Republican National Convention to appear in Beloit at a Chamber of Commerce meeting. Some insiders had said that raised concerns with Trump.
The other candidates for governor are former U.S. Marine Kevin Nicholson and state Rep. Timothy Ramthun. Both have been running Trump-style anti-establishment campaigns, and a Trump endorsement of Kleefisch, were it to come, would be a huge blow for either one of them. In the same light, some insiders say they believe the fact Kleefisch met with Trump means she still hasn’t sealed the deal with him. A Trump endorsement of Ramthun or Nicholson would be a huge blow for Kleefisch too, of course.
Nicholson is backed by Illinois billionaire Dick Uihlein, who is one of the nation’s most powerful conservative donors, and Ramthun is running a campaign focused on pushing decertification of the 2020 presidential election.
We are awaiting comment from the other campaigns.
Trump, if he runs in 2024, which many believe he will, has a stake in the outcome of the governor’s race because a strong pro-Trump Republican in the Wisconsin governor’s mansion could help him win the battleground state.
Trump and former Gov. Scott Walker were presidential primary rivals.
Businessman Eric Hovde, Former Gov. Tommy Thompson, and Tim Michels are still considering getting in the race for governor, sources say.

Well, she is attractive, so there’s a good chance she gets the endorsement like that woman in TN.
Great, I hope he meets with candidates challenging in Michigan.
Check book at the ready. This year I’m going all out.
How do you make a mail-in donation?
Does that include Amnesty Senator Rubio?
Only if he is the nominee.
Will you vote against him in the primary?
Have to wait and see. But he Haas no opponent as of now. Time is running out to file.
Are Florida voters as stupid as SC voters?
Re-electing Amnesty Senators is just retarded.
The tell will be if the President invites Nicholson as well as Rathman to Mar el Lago.
Rubio’s probably holding a seat that requires the support the Cuban exile community and Rubio is their boy. Challenge him and you risk losing their support statewide, and in the close Presidential races that we need Florida to win. So Rubio is “safe” unless the Cubans turn on him.
She’s the Real Deal. Was our Lt. Gov under Governor Scott Walker for 8 years, even with a bogus recall thrown in there by the Socialist Democrats of Wisconsin. Smart, accomplished, articulate (she was a TV newscaster) and polished. Works harder than any other pol I’ve ever met. If there’s someplace to be, she is there. Squeaky-clean. Married, two daughters. Husband is a Representative. Pro-Life. Pro-Gun. Pro-Constitution.

Ill stick with Trump’s recommendations.
Yep.
“Nicholson is backed by Illinois billionaire Dick Uihlein, who is one of the nation’s most powerful conservative donors, and Ramthun is running a campaign focused on pushing decertification of the 2020 presidential election.”
If Trump’s ego doesn’t get in the way, Ramthun is a non-starter. Nicholson would probably do an OK job, but I favor Rebecca. She’s as big a Cheer Leader as I am, when it comes to Wisconsin. ;)
“Ill stick with Trump’s recommendations.”
Omarosa, Anthony Scaramucci, Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone. A bunch of real winners.
Either you can start a new party or you work with the republican party. Both approaches are flawed. I’d rather a new party myself. Trump chose to work with republicans. Many are rinos.
Trump has got to be king maker or the republican party will remain worthless
Like McCain, Romney, Cornyn, Tillis, Cassidy, Ernst, Grahamnesty, McConnell, Risch, Rounds, Sullivan and Sasse have turned out so well.......
