He knew he didn’t qualify as NBC at that point. But the guy sure showed some genius in getting around that requirement. Brilliant political maneuvering over an outright forgery.

That is a fair conclusion, at least as to the limited role he had to play.
IMO, The Machine assured him they had his back; that they would either fix or obscure the record and had well-known legal experts to handle the NBC difficulty by arguing anyone born in the U.S. was a NBC citizen even though the founders obviously intended otherwise.
It was a massive case of fraud by a very large crew and was enabled by the Dems and RINO's and a MSM.
The R's calculated if they were able to disqualify Obama that with the then-current political environment they would end up with Hillary and so almost to the man they decided to sit on their hands.

***They gave him good advice. They said the SCOTUS would never rule on it because they’re a bunch of P^$$ies afraid that the blacks would riot. They pointed out that the 20th amendment only applies to President ELECT, so by that time the cat is out of the bag and there was even a SCOTUS member quoted saying so. It was brilliant constitutional wrangling. Not by someone who upholds the highest principles of blessings our constitution offers, mind you, but brilliant legal maneuvering nonetheless.

***I doubt it was a large crew. Big conspiracies tend to leak out. This was 4 or 5 people at the most. And one of them, the expert who manipulated his longform Birth Certificate, “mysteriously” died in a plane accident a couple years later where she was the only one who died while the others survived.

***I don’t think that was the calculation. The calculation was that SCOTUS would simply do their job. Then the calculation was, shiite — now that SCOTUS hasn’t done their job due to fear of riots breaking out, what does that mean? So we have a reinforced Deep State as a result. It was the death blow to our republic, and we have been seeing the muscle spasms of a dying republic ever since then.
