Elon Musk Delivers Stern Message to Governments Ordering Him to Block Russian News Sources on Starlink

“Sorry to be a free speech absolutist.”

Billionaire Elon Musk has been seen as very helpful to Ukrainians when he quickly launched Starlink internet services after the country lost access to the web. The orbital internet technology is far more challenging for Russia to cut off than localized ISPs.

But it wasn’t just Russia wanting to deny Ukrainians an uncensored internet. World leaders called on Starlink to block Russia news broadcasts from reaching Ukrainians as well.

“Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources. We will not do so unless at gunpoint. Sorry to be a free speech absolutist.”

I think the Ukrainians are more then sophisticated enough to decide what is fact and what is fiction for themslves. Another example of the West making nice sounding noises about a totally meaningless issue to avoid taking any real action to help the Ukraininas.

Hmmm. Biden and the Democrats have become quite anti free speech. Is the US one of those governments?

Information should go in both directions and people with active brain cells will make up their own minds.

Cancel culture is the true pandemic.

Musk remains dependent on NASA and other government funding of various kinds, so this may not last long....

When they pay you they own you.

Right decision.

There is no propaganda that can justify Russia’s atrocities. Let the Russians embarrass themselves further to the rest of the world.

The US Government, among others, will be happy to comply.

It’s a two-way street. The US has pissed off the Russians, so Musk is, pretty much, the only way to get people into space.

If there was ever "news" source to be blocked, it's the Propaganda Media of ABCCBSCNNFOXNBCNPRNYTWAPO.

The CDC and the FDA also need to be blocked for spreading dangerous propaganda about how healthy the Jim Jones Jabs are.

Fair point—but I am convinced that the US (NASA) has just “lost it” as far as space technology goes.

They are “all in” on “diversity” and “climate change”—clown world.

Musk will have to make it on his own—if he can.

Here is an example of what I am talking about:
