Y'all remember Kim Klacik's campaign. Great candidate, slickly produced ads, inspiring message... lost by 40 points because it was a heavily democrat and heavily party establishment (D+27) district.

Ilhan Omar's district is D+26. Omar Nur won't bother acknowledging her and she'll walk to reelection. If actually ever investigated, Omar Nur very likely committed multiple acts of fraud during her immigration and education in America, she also did things while in office that should have had her expelled from office for ethics violations, but also would have gotten her stoned to death by her own family for dishonor if she were still living in Somalia.

I would love to see Shukri Abdirahman succeed, but unless she's able to tap into some sort of electoral strength that is heretofore unprecedented, she's just collecting campaign funds from uneducated saps and simps.

What I'd like to see is some way of using those "hopeless" campaigns in a more aspirational role. Have those candidates keep running and likely losing, but working with the state parties to turn a D+26 seat into a D+10 seat. Find new Republican voters and volunteers, make the Dem candidates start working for their elections, keep them honest, and spend money in their district instead of piping it to other elections and stuffing ballot boxes unchecked. Every inch can make a difference in a close statewide or national election, and momentum can do a lot if you keep at it long enough.

Unfortunately a web video that is well done, but will only be seen by folks like us and not the majority of the voters in her district (like that well done web video of that candidate walking through Baltimore). If every single voter in her district sat down and watched the whole ad, that might - might - make a difference - it is a powerful message that might resonate with them if only they saw it / received it. But that district is pretty hopeless - they elected Ilhan Omar to begin with.
