⚡️ Russian forces have struck Independence Square in central Kharkiv with a powerful explosion.
According to a video of the event, the blast detonated right in front of the headquarters of the Kharkiv Oblast government.

Yeah I saw that earlier. That’s the blast that killed an Indian student.

Looks to be a decent sized crater, but the nearby buildings appear to be structurally intact. Was it not so massive, or was it a downwardly oriented detonation (bunker buster)?
Russia just said the are going to bomb targets in Kyiv and told people to stay away from building

That big 40 mile long Russian column approaching Kiev from the north and apparently just sitting there and for whatever reason not deploying seems to be the best opportunity for the Ukrainians to end this war. If somehow they were able to destroy it, the ramifications politically would be immense. The Russians would not be able to hide the severe losses and Putin probably would not survive. Begs the question why haven’t the Ukrainians seized this opportunity or at least tried to attack it with what they have.
My fear is the West is egging on Ukraine to hold out.
Yesterday the mayor of Kharkiv said they had driven the Russians out and secured the city.
He drove out an early probe by the boy scouts. The pros wait in the wings.
I hope they all get out.

They cannot move forces of any type, anywhere.
