Some of the early highlights of the ongoing debate in the Canadian Parliament over the Emergencies Act invoked by Justin Trudeau. This is only meant to give you a very brief view of the debate that is happening there during its early stages.
PING!
If they want to keep their jobs, they better wrap this up quickly and with a big fat nay.
I suspect this is all for show, if they felt so uncomfortable with it parliament could have easily voted to stop it, the EA still would have had 7 days to be in effect as I understand their law, would have been an automatic sundown.
Instead they chose to close the debate when he enacted the EA. I think that was proof enough the body is bought and owned.
A dog and pony show. All for show, like here. Nothing effective happens.
The damage has been done and cannot be undone.
The time has come to remove all emergency powers from the hands of state, local, and national executive.
Apparently the most used part of the act seems to be stealing the people’s assets. As such, it will now be permanent. Endless emergencies to pay for response teams to same endless emergencies.
There is no emergency.

They’ll do nothing. As predicted. 2014
https://www.cpac.ca/ The debate can be watched live right now. The vote on the Emergency Measures Act will be this evening. It looks like the Conservatives and Bloc will vote against while the Liberals and the NDP will vote for it.
Excellent. The debate is over.
As I stated there is a chance some Liberals from Quebec might peel off away from the Son of Fidel.
Proud fille de roi descendant.
I take it back...
Sure... might be one or two Liberals and the independent Member Sloan will vote against it. But outside of that, I think the division will play out about as I suggested. Then it’s on to the Senate where it’s more questionable as to how the cookie crumbles.

wow, train wreck in slow motion
One of the few substantial powers the Canadian Senate has is to block the Emergencies Act, but I do not know the current party breakdown nor if any Liberal or NDP Senators might be inclined to break ranks on this issue.
Well, this breakdown of the Senate seems reasonable..... https://thecanadaguide.com/government/the-senate/
