So far it appears that the Bloc Quebecois will OPPOSE the Emergencies Act. It's going to be interesting to see how Liberal MPs from Quebec vote since two of them have already expressed unease with Trudeau on all this. The EA is EXTREMELY unpopular in Quebec. They don't like giving such powers to the central government in Ottawa.

If they want to keep their jobs, they better wrap this up quickly and with a big fat nay.

I suspect this is all for show, if they felt so uncomfortable with it parliament could have easily voted to stop it, the EA still would have had 7 days to be in effect as I understand their law, would have been an automatic sundown.

Instead they chose to close the debate when he enacted the EA. I think that was proof enough the body is bought and owned.

A dog and pony show. All for show, like here. Nothing effective happens.

The damage has been done and cannot be undone.

Executives across the world have shown that they are incapable of restraining themselves. from abusing emergency powers.

The time has come to remove all emergency powers from the hands of state, local, and national executive.

Apparently the most used part of the act seems to be stealing the people’s assets. As such, it will now be permanent. Endless emergencies to pay for response teams to same endless emergencies.

https://www.cpac.ca/ The debate can be watched live right now. The vote on the Emergency Measures Act will be this evening. It looks like the Conservatives and Bloc will vote against while the Liberals and the NDP will vote for it.
