Another lost rock gem of the 1980s.

Great band, finally had to hang it up last year when their guitarist, George Kooymans, was diagnosed with ALS. They started in 1961.
Great Song!
The song that made them a “Two-Hit Wonder”.
Saw them in the 80’s at Reunion Arena in Dallas. They opened for RUSH.
Not really appropriate to call Twilight Zone “lost” since it’s a classic that still gets lots of play. Certainly a gem. There’s just so much great rock from the 60’s and 70’s, but I still hear it at least once a week.
I know they were still regularly perfoming in Europe a few years ago.
Paul Shaffer in that vid.
Strange video though. They kidnap the hired gun so they could have some scantily clad Nazi chicks inject him with something that would finally persuade him to be their lead singer . . . I think.
How many of you misheard those lyrics?
That one I got. However, I STILL think that Neil Diamond is singing about some hippie minister named Reverend Bluejeans.
Makes me think of high school, oh-so-long ago.
It was only recently that I found out that tune was by Golden Earring. Their song Radar Love is one of the all time great driving songs.
Thanks, great time warp for me
It will always be “Reverend Bluejeans” for me.
RADAR LOVE was equally as good.
This was the go to at one time in the past.
Cruising on foreign highways.

Very much a classic DeBussy, but still a favorite,

Great song, great band. One of the first to chart two top Ten singles in two successive decades, IIRC. I believe the video also had two cuts - one for European TV, and one for American MTV audiences, with the gratuitous boobage edited out for broadcast standards.
EVERYTHING on the Moontan album is fantastic. Most of it just didn’t cut down well for top 40 radio play.* They also had a lot of hits on the Dutch charts that didn’t get much promotion in the US, for various reasons.
*Too bad — the slow buildup guitar solo in “Vanilla Queen” is, IMO, without sounding like it should be in some sex flick, THE most erotic expression in music ever made.
