but they’re sooo cute... not.
Exactly. I witnessed this in 1973 in USN with political class insisting on female inclusion in aviation. Nothing new.
They must hold females to lower standards simply because females cannot usually meet male standards. This is just biology. Sorry.
I went to jump school in August 94. There were West Point cadets in my class. Had a female cadet in my stick. One day she started to ask our Black Hat a question. She sounded like a 13yr old. About halfway through the question the BlackHat stopped and said…..Do you mean to tell me that I’m going to have to salute you and take orders from you one day?
She stopped talking.
“Someone needs to be court martialed over this.”
The entire military brass would have to be court martialed.
Their defense—They were just following orders.
I was a career recruiter. There are two parts of recruiting; production and support. The production guys are out beating the bushes and working as much as necessary with the possibility of getting fired hanging over their heads if they didn’t make goal. (This was reserve recruiting. If you didn’t perform your annual contract was not renewed.) The support people worked 8-5 five days a week. There were virtually no females in production, but support was over 50%. My last supervisor before I retired was a female who had worked in support and had never put one person in the military. She took the billet of a male who had years of recruiting experience. This was 20 years ago. I can only imagine how much worse it is today.
Got news for you. It has been true for decades.
It will ever be so as long as we pretend women can and should do anything.
So did I!
Made me sick!
Glad to retire in 1991!
PS You will note that the “political class” NEVER has to suffer the consequences of their decisions?
Patsy Schroeder comes to mind, as does the DACOWITZ advisory group.
Women were complaining because they felt that they weren’t being promoted as fast as men.
They thought this was because women couldn’t be in Combat Arms.
Now, women can be in Combat Arms.
Let’s see if the number of female generals increase.
Second stick needs a soft place to PLF .......
Wait. Isn’t land navigation map-reading? doesn’t take much physical strength to read a map and carry a compass. It just takes brains and a sense of direction.
It has indeed been common knowledge for decades. The difference is that it has now marched its way to the most elite services, and even beyond having lower standards is the proof of falsification that they met even the lowered standards.
Women should be banned from Combat Arms, for obvious reasons. There are plenty of other specialties for them to serve. Oh well. Let's get our @$$es kicked by the Russians in Ukraine. Then our military will get demoralized. That'll be the end of NATO.
