The Ford government has gone to court to freeze the funds of the Freedom Convoy, according to the Toronto Sun's Brian Lilley.
The order was issued by the court today and all funds are frozen until further notice.
It is worth noting that the funds have been frozen, not seized.
According to a statement: "Today, the Attorney General brought an application in the Superior Court of Justice for an order pursuant to section 490.8 of the Criminal Code prohibiting any person from disposing of, or otherwise dealing with, in any manner whatsoever, any and all monetary donations made through the Freedom Convoy 2022 and Adopt-a-Trucker campaign pages on the GiveSendGo online fundraising platform.

Know this! Canada has absolutely ZERO jurisdiction over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo. All funds for EVERY campaign on GiveSendGo flow directly to the recipients of those campaigns, not least of which is The Freedom Convoy campaign.

Trudeau is certainly hearing from world-leaders and the US Deep-state on the trucker protests. They want him to clean it up, and he, in turn, is asking for help.
Thus - expect Biden and the DOJ to find a pretext to seize GiveSendGo funds for the Canadian Truckers.
The way I read what is posted, the legislature wrote a specific line of code, 490.8 naming the Freedom Convoy?
As if some jacktard Canadian judge holds any sway in the US.
They will quickly find an Obama federal judge who will enforce it in the U.S.

If they are using 490 it looks like by reading it they need an indictable offense in order to confiscate the property. So do they have and indictment. OF course not it is bs.

But the 490 looks like you need an indictable offense and the seize the offending property. Looks like a hoax by the govment. And then the US attorney general will buy in to the hoax to freeze the property in the US although that will take a court order here and we will see if the AG can swing it. Insurrection don’t you know. The stage just got a lot bigger.
That’s my impression also. I don’t think they are dealing in reality, it seems a leap for a provincial government to assume such powers. They are ‘sending a message’ but doubt they can make it stick.

Today, the Attorney General brought an application in the Superior Court of Justice for an order pursuant to section 490.8 >>> and it appears that they so far made an application and announced that so they can say “looky we made and application to seize your money so don’t give any money to the truckers.” thinking to get the funding people to run scared but the judge would need to actually create the order. I think this is bs start to finish.

Yeah. I don’t know anything about Canadian law... my instinct tells me that they probably don’t have the power to do this.
Another story out there is that Ford is going to end vaccine passports next week... this trucker protest has been successful on the provincial level.
