The Ottawa police chief laid out the notion of an all out crackdown on protesters using all available laws including financial, traffic and insurance rules.
Peter Sloly also using the expression:
"surge and contain"
to desribe future actions by law enforcement in Ottawa. Local police will get support from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Canada's "Rebel News" discussed the matter in a mid-day live stream.
An informed observer of Canada's scene sees the hand of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau behind the ostensible actions of a local government announced today.
In 1970 his father imposed Canada's War Powers Act in the face of kidnapping and murder by the "Front for the Liberation of Quebec" and he ended up putting some of his own left-wing friends behind bars.
One wonders what his son Justin Trudeau intends to do to this enemies in the coming hours?

It is shocking to think that opening your church and feeding the homeless, who by the way don’t stop needing help just because Covid-19 shows up, could garner the ire of authorities to so dramatic an extent.
The way that Pastor Artur is being treated just doesn’t make sense. The warrants for the latest arrest stem from an incident in December where Artur, who has a medical mask exemption, was attempting to gather his mail from a Canada Post office but was refused accommodation. Artur himself contacted police to help him retrieve his mail and ultimately filed a human rights complaint over the incident and moved on with his life. Or he thought he had until last week’s arrest.
Artur has attended numerous public events, his address is known to police, his lawyer Sarah is known to police, but they never enacted the warrant or contacted Pastor Artur. Then, last week he was arrested, seemingly arbitrarily, while making his way home from a protest in Leduc, Alberta. It just doesn’t add up.

That is the most stirring thing I have ever heard.
I watched the Affirmative Action chief ranting about how they were going to crush the demonstration, make arrests of all those bad truckers, and hunt down all the organizers and those who are funding the demonstration no matter where they are. He was talking about what looks like a totally peaceful (if noisy) bunch of demonstrators as if they are terrorists or rioters. I don’t remember the Canadians getting this worked up about the Antifa rioters who have taken over Toronto on more than one occasion.

Toronto is a city that experiences city stuff. Ottawa is Washington D.C. without any African-Americans. It is an overgrown bunch of white-collar elites that have the sorts of cultural things available that government money can by with a decent leaven of French Canadians added in around the area. This is likely the biggest civil disobedience in living memory for all practical purposes.

He seems to forget that during the War of 1812-1814, it was predominantly Canadian MILITIA and Natives that held the much larger American forces. An army of farmers, lumberjacks, and fishermen defended their country. There were SOME British regulars, but most of them in North America, were fighting the US Army in the US.

Soon, the Germans dreaded fighting the Canadians over all other armies. They referred to the Canadians as 'shock troops' or 'storm troops'. It is not without reason that the CEF spearheaded EVERY assault during the '100 days'.
Canadians continued on with that heritage in WW2, where, of a population of 8 million, over 1 MILLION served!

It should be remembered that Trudeau supported and continues to support BLM as they rioted, burned, looted, murdered, extorted and worse in cities in the USA. He approved this then and does not disapprove it today.
Yet today he considers these patriotic truckers a threat and wants to bring down the force of government on peaceful protest. If these truckers were bad, why in the hell are the highways lined with people cheering them on and giving them moral and financial support? Citizens even bring them food.

Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly held a press conference on Friday announcing measures to combat the continued Freedom Convoy protests in the streets, and to block any additional protesting support from arriving. [Full Presser Here] In essence, the Ottawa police are going to use domestic terrorism authority against the Canadian freedom protest groups.
The outlined measures include deploying an additional 150 municipal police officers and undercover federal agents to infiltrate the protest and gather intelligence useful for the purpose of eliminating their effort.
Chief Sloly outlined that federal intelligence authorities will be “collecting financial, digital, vehicle registration, driver identification, insurance status and other related evidence that will be used in prosecution.”
The jackboots will focus on using acts of mischief, hate, harassment, intimidation and other threatening behaviors, whether real or created by Canadian intelligence operations, to target the protestors.
Additionally, a “surge and contain” strategy will be used to isolate the protest in the red zone area in front of Parliament Hill. Ottawa police will use heavy concrete barriers as barricades, to create no-access roadways throughout the downtown core, and they will likely close highway off-ramps and bridges to stop additional support and/or protest groups from arriving.
The goal is to isolate the current protest groups, cut off their supply and support logistics and pick them off.
Further, any police officer who is caught aiding, assisting, supporting, sympathizing with or facilitating the ongoing freedom protest in the city will be removed from duty and subject to arrest. All Ottawa police officers are to regard the protesting group as an unlawful, extremist and hate-filled mob and have a duty to comply with the instructions of the command and control structure.
