Just trying to find out if this is true, this claim that there is cell towers shut down at Alberta border. Asking for persons who know truckers, convoy members, CBrs in area, ham radio persons, those who own satellite phones, if this can be confirmed.

Just 2 days ago the government was making a bogus safety claim that the Alberta roadblock was preventing an ambulance from getting thru. Think about that. An ambulance crossing an international border. Anyway, now the provincial government is shutting off cell towers? Which would seem to be the greater REAL threat to public safety?
If true, a very dangerous, intentional disruption of potentially life saving communications that could end in someone’s death. All for political tactics’ sake.
If the government method is to shut down cell towers, the trucks should head to the financial district. That would sting.
How do we know this is happening other than the story at the link? Sounds a bit specious, especially because other nontruckers would be needing those towers.

Continuing to attempt to ascertain accuracy of claimed cell disruption. Does any FReeper know any convoy member, can anyone get through, are there any ham or satellite phone owner/operators, any truckers or CBrs. Please search own contacts and wake them up. Being middle of night, excellent time to call friends for such purpose.

Heavenly Father:
We pray today for Canada.
We have asked for help against evil, and You are sending it.
Who would have thought that You would raise up an army of truckers? Thank you.
We now pray protection for them, as they have placed themselves as front-line soldiers against tyranny.
We place now the Blood of Jesus Christ upon them, their families, their rigs, their money, food, supplies, businesses, time, health, and souls, anD for the salvation of them, every one.
We now ask that the armies of Heaven go before them and surround each and every one. As they stay. As they park. As they honk. And they raise their horns in peaceful protest, as all let leaders know that they have overstepped their legal and moral boundaries, and that they must stop.
Change hearts and minds of politicians. Executive, Legislative, Judicial. Province, Territory, Possession. Governors, Mayors, all Bureaucrats.
Save them. Or remove them. In the Name of Jesus, we bind the strongman over each one, and over all of their handlers, influencers, and puppetmasters.
Also keep safe and turn the hearts of all the law enforcement officers who are being forced to act as stormtroopers.
They are placed in the middle of this and then tossed “under the bus” as expedient. It appears to be happening now. Protect them, and turn them to act according to Your will, keeping conflicts peaceful, Lord God.
Let us know what we are to do to help.
Give armies of truckers help and strength and salvation, O Lord. And salvation and deliverance for government officials and leaders.

So if they’ve turned of the cell towers, doesn’t that mean the cell phones can’t be tracked? Ready, fire, aim!

They’ll lie about anything if it furthers their narrative. Sadly, probably 95% of people will fall for it. Then the remaining 5% — like you — will draw on common sense and logic to point out their lies.
In the original post, Norski did mention that it may or may not be true, and did ask if anyone could confirm.

A while back I heard that truckers don’t use CB much any more. Does anyone know if that’s true?
