Joni Mitchell is joining her old friend and contemporary Neil Young in having her legendary music catalog pulled from Spotify over concerns about vaccine misinformation being spread on the platform’s popular Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
In a brief note posted to her official website on Friday, the singer-songwriter wrote, “I’ve decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue.”
Now Irrelevant.

I didn’t know Spotify sold 8-Track tapes.
I guess I’m missing something. These liberal singers want to pull their products from a major service, meaning their listeners won’t be able to hear them? And they doing this why? To prove that they are liberal? What the heck is the point?
I still listen to her. Like her quite a bit in fact. She’s had health issues over the past years so it’s hard to actually tell how much of this is actually her. She would definitely be left on the spectrum in any case. What I find troubling is the easy dismissal of Rogan’s freedom of speech - as if the ‘marketplace of ideas’ no longer existed and there were some font of knowledge to whom we are all supposed to submit with the guidance of our tech overlords. It’s all very dystopian, which is about the opposite side I would have thought Joni to take from her younger days.
She has always been a wacko.
Oh no! Things are looking bad for Rogan. The only question is will Joan Baez be the next domino to fall? If she pulls out Strawberry Alarm Clock is almost sure to follow!
