So Julie Farnam is modelling the Intelligence Unit of the Capitol Police on the Secret Service. Oh boy.

"In addition to basic information about the event, the revised template reviewed by POLITICO asked analysts to describe “the backgrounds of the participants (other than [Members of Congress]) and attendees, if known.”

The template also told intelligence analysts to look at social media feeds related to event attendees: “In searching social media outlets, is there anything that may impact the event itself or any of the participants (both [Members of Congress] and other known attendees)?”

And it told Capitol Police analysts to search for information about lawmakers’ opponents and their opponents’ supporters: “List and search all political opponents to see if they or their followers intend to attend or disrupt the event.”

And

"In another document reviewed by POLITICO, one Capitol Police official noted that Farnam directed analysts to run “background checks” on people whom lawmakers planned to meet, including donors and associates. When staff were listed as attending these meetings, Capitol Police intelligence analysts also got asked to check the social media accounts of the staffers.

Analysts were also directed to probe the ownership of buildings where members of Congress held their meetings...."

What January 6th “insurrection”? That was no “insurrection”, that was the American people visiting “THEIR HOUSE.” The politicians only work there.

Does this apply to all incumbents, or only democrat incumbents?

LOL at the thought of Pelosi's goon squad helping Lauren Boebert or Marjorie Taylor Greene dig up dirt on their opponents!

It would be interesting to know just what is involved in reviewing social media feeds. Most people in online forums use pseudonyms. Are the Capitol Police accessing the account information on all online sites? Are they scanning all emails? Are they tracking individual computers? Are they using that vast universal surveillance system that NSA swears it doesn’t have?

I don’t have the technical expertise to even ask the question properly. Just what kind of data collection, exactly, is being done here?

Alarmist nonsense. Members of Congress submit lists of people they are meeting with in order for these people to be vetted. Members of Congress are targeted just like any other elected official. Capitol Police intel analysts looking at PUBLIC information in order to complete a threat assessment is SOP.

The Capitol Police cannot win in this situation. If a Member goes to an event and is accosted or assaulted by someone, people will say "why wasn't this person vetted?!" So they are damned if they do, damned if they don't.

So, if you wish to redress grievances, you must submit your social media accounts to a strip search?

Perhaps, instead of increasing security, you should stop doing things that piss the populace off.

Just a thought.

Hate to say it, but 1/6 is proving Edward Snowden correct.

What should happen is that most of the people who've gone in, they've should be charged for trespassing. Misdemeanor. Maybe couple hours of community service, if that.

But nope. 1/6 protestors are the enemies of the state because they dared to protest against the ruling party which is the Democratic Party.
