GINGRICH DOESN'T THINK THESE DEMOCRATS WILL LAST THE YEAR
Redline Headlines ^ | Jan. 14, 2022 | R.J. ALCALA

House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday that he is in agreement with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy that more than 30 of the chamber's Democrats may retire before the year is out, in light of the constraints lawmakers are under.

"First of all, the House under Nancy Pelosi is not a very happy place, with all the COVID restrictions, all the voting by absentee, all the different things they are doing, the masking, the police requirements," Gingrich said. "Members get corrected walking on the floor. I walked on the floor recently and I was astonished that to get on the floor of the House, you go through sort of a TSA system with a policeman watching you, as though you are some subservient person who is a danger to your colleagues."

He added that he believes Democrats are looking ahead and have concerns about being in the minority.

His comments come after McCarthy, R-Calif., said this weekend that in 2010, when Republicans won the majority, 17 Democrats retired, but now, there are already 25 leaving and he believes there will be more than 30 "because they see what the future holds."

McCarthy also said this weekend that Republicans are seeking to secure the border, and Gingrich said he's glad the minority leader "transferred immediately to real issues, real substance."

"Controlling the border is a big, big deal," Gingrich said. "[Immigrants] weren't checked for COVID or criminal records. They could be in your neighborhood and you have no idea. The Biden administration is shipping people around the country. But it's deeper than that. we had 100,000 people die last year from drug overdoses. We have an amazing number, a tragic number of suicides. We have a mental health problem that exhibits itself in homeless towns."

Gingrich went on to say that he believes that under the leadership of McCarthy as House Speaker, "the Republicans are going to have serious hearings looking at the big issues that affect our lives, as well as going through the stuff you have to do just to uncover all the bad stuff the Democrats did. I think you have got to have both things."

It seems there’s a dedicated cohort in the media and leadership that likes to toss “free hopium” out to conservatives hoping they’ll bite. Later, when the blissfully optimistic predictions fall flat, conservatives are further dejectedly while these agents think of the next set of bait to drop.

Don’t take the bait.

Yeah. Now you know what it’s like to be a regular American, under the boot heel of some fece-consuming jackbooted thug.

I walked on the floor recently ...

No, he hasn't. The Capitol and the WH are both effectively shutdown as far as the US Government is concerned. DC is a ghost town these days... oh, it has some residents, it has some tourists, but it is anything but bustling active.

Pics from last week. Note the capital fencing. Note the WH concrete/plywood wall and crane:

Recall Grahamnesty was going to have hearings on Hunter. Crickets. The Reps had control of Congress and did nothing. Ryan and McConnell made sure of that.

Newt is smoking weed. If any heardings are held by that milquetoast, open borders loving, cheap labor express funded, liberal RINO loser McCarthy, we will get the same kind of meaningless nonsense put on repeatedly by Trey Gowdy and my favorite Darrell Issa.

Maybe Newt finally realizes he was only a tool to get Pelosi one step closer to the Presidency.

It’s obvious the Democrats know the value of walls around the things they want to protect.

What’s the concrete wall for that’s in front of the White House? It doesn’t surround the White House.

I would like to see Republican running for the House sign a “contract with America” that will commit to legislation and hearings being voted on and or completed within 100 days to do the following:

Come up with a Budget proposal that stops all the continuing resolution government shutdown nonsense

Come up with a plan and legislation that puts in place a path to ending the pandemic. Define a “goal” or end point, fund or encourage via vaccine guarantees of a new annual influenza vaccine. A federal law against vaccine mandates, a path to international travel.

Provide a pathway for DARP children who have grown up in the US and are solid taxpayers with no criminal record.

Gain control of the southern border and illegal immigration.

Pass laws to strengthen the integrity of the federal election voting system. This includes cyber security, transparency, and federal audits (and prosecutions for crimes) of the federal law requiring States and jurisdictions to manage their voter rolls.

hearings and passage of a law that sets out priorities to change regulations that are contributing to the rampant inflation facing the American public. The hearings should also be geared at prioritizing those regulations that will do the most in reigning in inflation.

Another campaign promise should be to work toward ending the bitter partisan divide in the House of Representatives and where ever Democrats play partisan politics, holding public events and press briefings to show the country what is really happening. Allowing some House votes to be on the basis of conscience and not party line.

Reorganizing the federal government to be much less costly and more efficient. The first element of this would be to do away with the revolving door between elected officials, agency leaders, and Legislative staff and lobby organizations or the industries they helped regulate. The second would be to move many of the headquarters out of WA DC area so that there is likely significant staff changes (this can be part of the budget process and the inflation reduction process). The Department of Agriculture in WA DC makes little sense. The Bureau of Indian Affairs should be in Oklahoma or the Dakotas. The headquarters of the Department of Education should be located more in the middle of the Country. The US Dept of Transportation should be located in a more central state. The FAA, the SEC, the FCC, can be located in other areas that should put them closer to the firms they regulate.

Just a thought.
