I ordered a Haynes car manual for my kid, but he never got it and I cannot even find the order, so I decided to stop at Half Price books to see if they had one.
I walked in and the one of the employees saw me and made a noise like he is being strangled, another one said "You have to have a mask, there are some right there" I said no thanks, "If you don't put on a mask you cannot be in the store"
I said really loudly It's ok I am just looking for your Security Theater section. The customers laugh
I considered ignoring the employees and just looking for what I wanted, but the cop shop is right next door and I am pretty sure they were ready to dial 911.
One of the employees asked what I wanted and offered to go look as long as I waited outside.
A few minutes later he came out and said they don't have but there is one at another store and he can have it transferred.
I notice he is wearing 2 masks so I asked him Are you really wearing 2 masks? and he said Why yes, yes I am
I just started laughing and walked away
That whole drama queen thing the maskerbaters do is hilarious.
I live in a mid-rise building with elevators. I also don’t ever wear a mask. Very few people in my building do.
About a year ago, I had just returned from running some errands and got on the elevator to go up to my floor. A masked woman appeared before the elevator door closed and I stuck my arm out to stop the door so she could get on. She gave the “frightened Karen-eyes-above-the-muzzle” look at my bare face and said indignantly, “I’ll catch the next one.”
I just chuckled and said “OK” and proceeded.
They can then say “we asked you to leave, you didn’t, and now you’re trespassing; if you don’t leave right now, we’re calling the cops”.
That’s what has been used by businesses, and what they call the cops on, someone trespassing.
“You would think that retail boom stores that survived the Amazon onslaught would be a little bit more accommodating to their customer base. They deserve to go out of business.”
They do not deserve to go out of business and they did accommodate the customer. An employee asked him to wait outside, looked for the book, found it at another store, and asked if he would like the book transferred to this store. Sounds like an employee who wants to keep a customer.
Always, always, look in the windows before you enter, if you can.
Gauge the “mask mood” of the place.
Sounds like a brainwashed idiot.
Mask “mandates” are no way to run a sustainable society.
Because you comply, it will never end, because it gives “them” power. Or are you one of “them”? If you are, you’re in the wrong place.
