"The city of Boulder, Colorado, issued a warning to residents Monday, urging them to cut back on home energy use throughout the winter as energy costs skyrocket.
On average, Boulder households are expected to pay $98 per month for natural gas-powered heating, a 37% jump compared to the $71 per month they paid last year, according to the city. The warning posted by city officials explained that nationwide supply challenges are to blame for the higher consumer costs.
“Turn down your thermostat and dress in layers: It’s not just up to your furnace to keep you warm,” the city wrote in the warning. “Dressing in layers can keep you warm while relying less on your heat source.”
“Avoid using hot water unless you need it: Cold water works just fine for washing most clothing,” the alert said. “Running your dishwasher daily, instead of hand washing your dishes, can often save both energy and water.”
The city also suggested that citizens “harness sunshine” by opening south-facing shades during the daytime. Installing better windows and installing additional insulation were among the other suggestions. ..."

Jimmy Carter did this in the 1970’s, and just a few years ago California ‘elites’ told people to hang their laundry outside and not water they lawns...while their own lawns were green and the dryers were warm from use.
During the Jimmy Carter presidency, we were asked to turn down our thermostats, dress in layers and forgo Christmas lights.
Our local public utility district saw a huge decrease in demand for electricity that winter. The district announced they were not taking in near enough money to operate so they RAISED THE RATES ! We ended up having LARGER electric bills using less electricity !
Regards,
Why can’t you people be more like plants?
Ah, good old Boulder. Proof that you don’t need a rocket to visit another planet populated by strange alien creatures.
I burn lots of wood to heat my house. It reduces my dependency on the grid and is a great workout to collect and quarter it.
Perfect time to go out and git ya one of them ‘lectric cars!
I’d like to see what the elitists are doing personally.
Are they paying out of their own pockets to do the same in their homes?
Are the government buildings doing the same?
Will they lower the temperatures in those buildings and require their employees to layer up to keep warm?
The abuse isn’t going to end until the abusers are confronted and subjected to a savage “behavioral intervention”.
Yes, in my neck of the woods in largely conservative southeast VA, we call or refer to such as one getting stomped into a mudhole, just saying. lulz
I have an insert that burns 24/7 in winter. Seems like I read somewhere in Colorado the local boobs had outlawed fireplace smoke (global warming, acid rain, climate change). Just like deadly side effects from a worthless vaxx, freezing for a non existent “climate emergency”.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Anti-fracking Boulder advises residents to bundle up as natural gas costs soar.. Home heating bills expected to rise by 37% this winter..
Xcel Energy, the city said that the average natural gas bill is expected to rise from $71 to about $98 per month, not including electricity costs.
Boulder has blocked energy development at every turn, pushed statewide policies to ban fracking, and sued energy companies - now they are complaining about the high energy costs and supply challenges they helped create

If all else fails pack the room with naked adults and cuddle together.
Solar farms in my area are covered with ice and snow.
“Avoid using hot water unless you need it: Cold water works just fine for washing most clothing,” the alert said.
I already do this because I am cheep.
Our water district did that a few years back. Raised rates because people were using sooo much less water they couldn’t bill enough to support the infrastructure.
It will be the same now with other types of infrastructure. The question will be if raising rates will cause people to conserve even more. It is potentially a death spiral or consider it the canary in the coal mine warning. It is one thing for a small district to do this, it is indicative of a widescale issue when it affects the nation.
Also throw in there all the environmentalists already trying to conserve for the good of the planet...
Yea...this isn’t a good look.
Sounds painful!
