We do now. Although it never has been a secret that historians run in left wing circles their rank partisanship has never been on such glaring display.

They’re paving the way for their own rejection of Trump’s comeback victory in 2024. They’ve cast him as the enemy of democracy, and therefore his ‘24 win will be illegitimate and unacceptable... even more illegitimate and unacceptable than his ‘16 victory which they considered pretty darned illegitimate and unacceptable. The ‘24 election will be framed as an existential threat to the continuation of the United States of America. If you vote for Trump, you’re voting to terminate the nation.
Goodwin got her start by “comforting” LBJ in his final days. Not much has changed.

Goodwin is a dumbass. I don’t remember ever reading that the bands played the Battle Hymn of the Democracy after the Civil War. Maybe I had defective history books while I was in school.
