We Have Less Than Two Weeks to Finalize Preparation

I do not know how better to emphasize the points other than to be direct and brutally honest. Sometimes you just have to call the baby ugly. The window to prepare for the incoming crisis of our lifetime is now down to two weeks. Hopefully, that is specific enough.

As we have discussed on these pages, the interventionist policies and regulations from the people creating the COVID response (writ large) have been fubar from the beginning. {Go Deep} When they shut down the restaurants and hospitality sector (2020 lockdowns), the advisors and bureaucrats triggered a cascading series of events inside the food supply chain {Go Deep}.
Every policy implementation since then has made matters worse {Go Deep}
Adding to the supply chain and inflation crisis, in about a week the vaccine mandate and subsequent commercial passport means 30,000 cross border truckers are about to get shut down from operating between the United States and Canada.
“70% of the 700 billion in trade between Canada and the US is moved by truck. This will have a dramatic effect on supplies and services reaching their destination and getting in the hands of those who need them. One needs to look no further than the recent UK fuel shortage, where the military had to be brought in to deliver fuel as a result of a lack of truck drivers. We are already seeing shortages, if these shortages reach critical levels on items such as fuel, food, blood, medicine or medical supplies, we will see real long-lasting damage.”
~ Mike Milliam, President of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada
As noted by those following the issue(s) closely:
Starting January 15th, 2022, truckers must show a proof of vaccine to cross the Canada/US borders. Since March 2020, drivers were considered “essential”. They could cross the border without a covid test or the vaccine. Under Biden/Trudeau administration, this is about to change.
22 000 truckers are about to lose their job. But this estimate is from the Canadian Trucking Association. The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) estimated this number closer to 31 000 truckers.
We are looking at a meltdown of the supply chain, or at least some severe disruption.
Get everything you need now. Inflation is about to get real. (read more)
CTH readers are already well versed in the domestic side of this issue {Go Deep}. When you overlay the USMCA aspect and recognize the critical sectors of the North American economy that are reliant upon each other; and when you realize that no one outside of the blue collar crews who have specific expertise in applying commonsense to this equation are talking about it, then you begin to realize what is obviously about to hit, and yet all will claim they never saw it coming.
We have approximately two weeks left. After that, I genuinely do not know what things will look like…. but I do know it will not be good. We are in very uncharted and unstable waters.
Act as if… or be acted upon. Ultimately, this appears to be our choice right now.
If we are wrong, then we will breathe a sigh of relief. However, if we are correct….
….. FUBAR!

My Dad actually coined that phrase. He was a contemporary engineer with Murphy.

The public’s health would improve if there was no canola oil. Vegetable seed oils are horrible - highly inflammatory for one thing. You can see a graph of when vegetable seed oils hit the scene .... the incidences of heart disease and all other manner of disease/illness increasing is a parallel track to the use of vegetable seed oils.
If you want to majorly improve your health, get off sugar, processed foods (eat real, whole foods) & vegetable seed oils.

Pardon the little ‘rant’ - this is a subject near/dear to my heart.

This will be much harder on Canada than on the U.S. That nasty “canola” oil is unfit for human consumption.

What about pure/ extra virgin olive oil?
Down in my State of Georgia (on my Mind)
in the little town of Lakeland (Nor' East of Valdosta)
there is a thriving-yet-small orchard of olive trees
Along with commercial olive oil production that is available
from almost any small farmers market in South Georgia.
Our state can weather any reduction of imported oils almost
as well as another stat such as...oh say... California

Most of the baked goods I buy at the grocery store (ones that actually taste good with real ingredients like real butter, and cream) come from Canada.

This is all part of the so called “Great Reset” With the eventual goal for a few on top to live high on the hog and the rest of the peons suffering from, and being mired in some form of socialism; restricting and controlling whatever little freedom we have left. Australia, New Zealand, Austria & Canada should give you a little taste or hint of what’s in store for us and what kind of $#!...the so called ‘Powers to be’ are trying to unload on us.

Olives and avocados are fruits so the oils are not ‘vegetable seed’ oils!
The issue with imported olive oil is that it’s often adulterated with soybean oil or other oils & rancid. From a local orchard, where you KNOW what you’re getting, cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil should be ok/good quality - check the harvest date. If using avocado oil, it should also be well-sourced so you get a quality oil.
You can search online for all sorts of articles on imported oils (69% they say) being fake/rancid.

If people are just now prepping it’s too late. I have two years worth of frozen food in my outside freezers and probably another years worth in the two in the kitchen. We have two more years worth of dry foods and protein supplements. My freezers are powered by my solar panels in the back acre behind the house. Those panels back feed the grid most of the time but the inverters have stand alone more they don’t need the grid to work. They are backed up by a trifuel 10kw generator that has natural gas from the grid and also a LP line to the original 500 gallon propane tank from when before atmos ran gas to us rural types. It will burn liquid petrol which I keep 110 gallons stabilized in bbls for the vehicles that could also be used if needed. During the Texas power outages we lost the grid for 4 days my panels powered the house all 7 freezers and fridges and charged a Tesla for all but one day of overcast on that day the generator ran for 8 hours in two hour blocks off the gas grid never touched the propane that is really only used for the grill and smokers now that the house was converted to Atmos grid gas which is half the cost of propane. Propane stores indefinitely and the tank is still certified for ten more years so we keep it full for the just in case use.

Wow, well said without saying a word! Let the dominoes fall.
I can see it happening, too, event by event from “two weeks to flatten the curve” until now and I wonder which domino is ours today.
I appreciate this timely reminder to stock up, be thankful and pray for a better day.

Per the comment thread on the CTH website for this article, we get a large percentage of our dairy from Canada, amongst other things.
