I don’t know if he was aware of it beforehand, but this was not to be a Joy Reid vs. Kamala Harris “grilling.” Tucker let him have it with both barrels, to the point of actually calling him a liar.
That being said, he defended his characterization of 1/6 participants as “terrorists” only somewhat credibly, certainly not spectacularly.
So, where am I at with Senator Cruz now?
Pretty much where I am with most of the Republican Party.
Do I agree with everything he says and does? Absolutely not.
Would I prefer a Democrat? Any Democrat?
Not in this lifetime.
Such is the curse of being a conservative.
There's no question he's an excellent debater probably because of his slippery nature but he should never be entrusted to lead the crusade for the salvation of the republic.
He knew what he was saying to appease the Swamp, IMO. Now he’s backtracking to win back Tucker’s audience. No sale.
Ted Cruz barely won relection against a very liberal opponent and even ran behind Abbott margin by over a million votes.
He needs to be primaried as there is a risk he might lose his seat in a very Republican leaning state.

My take is He has a base constituency that he believes are big enough to win The White House even though they barely carried him through a senate race v Beto Idiocie, that is the bush republicans. Those are to whom he was speaking re terrorism at the Capitol. He soon remembered - was reminded- MAGA will leave him in the dust. He still has no clue that MAGA does no and takes no phoniness.
He has no sense of who they are. Tone. Deaf.

I knew there was something wrong with him or his advisors when he picked Carly as a VP.
