A testing company on Wednesday confirmed the first known case of 'flurona' in Southern California, referring to the condition of being infected with COVID-19 and the flu at the same time.
The case was detected at a testing site at the Getty Center in Brentwood, according to 911 COVID Testing. The patient is a minor who just returned from vacation in Cabo San Lucas with family.

Concern or Hoax?
Covid doesn’t make them sick in other words.
MA MA MA MYYY FLURONA!
Itβs a nothing burger story.
You have 2 flu types at once.
Thatβs always been possible - nobody cared before politicians needed click bait titles to steal our liberties.
OK, this sh*t is getting ridiculous now...
Last year they were saying that covid pushed out the flu and that was why there were so few cases of influenza ... so does this mean that the new strains of covid are too weak to suppress flu? If so, that would be a good thing right?
Making the case for mixing a Covid vaccine into the less controversial annual flu vaccine. Except maybe we’ll have to take it 3-4 times annually, or more. And it will be mandatory for anyone who wants to eat or feed their families. But we’ll deal with all that later.
Seems right.
Oh - just F-OFF for Gods Sakes......
Not you shadow...... :-)
Is it really necessary that we have to come up with these stupid cute names for everything?
Yes. The combining of flu with corona is intended to make one think the worst, that covid has mated with flu and given birth to some kind of deadly super virus. It is ‘fear-porn’ in that sense.
OH..so they are now claiming that the flu virus was never a corona virus? Or what?
WHAT A STEAMING PILE OF S#IT! Lying bastards.
LOL
The Flu Virus never was a Coronavirus. See the difference between Coronaviridae and Orthomyxoviridae.
The flu is the later, COVID (and the common cold) are the former.
The CDC told the FDA that they were withdrawing their request that PCR tests be used for testing for COVID (like, at the end of this month) and instead a panel of tests capable of distinguishing between flu and COVID should be established. My takeway: people got the flu and they were recorded as COVID because the PCR can’t tell the difference.
Another bunch of over hyped nonsense..bet the kid felt the same symptom wise as a normal regular flu you cant really tell the difference..and how the heck are they determining which variant you have. My sister called the place where she spent 250 bucks on testing for her kids to find out what variant they had and the place said they cant find out that info
Yes. I understand the strain has to be subjected to genetic sequencing to detect which it is. ER’s are using symptom profiles in an anecdotal way to make the determination.
How long before the dreaded gonorrhona shows up.
I would bet that misdiagnosis of flu cases as covid last year was behind the so-called ‘disappearance’ of the flu... I also suspect that was for financial reasons... hospitals got money for covid they wouldn’t get for the flu. The people behind that design were almost certainly acting for political reasons... there were just too many perverse incentives injected into the system.
