"For the first time in U.S. history, more fentanyl than heroin has been intercepted by federal law enforcement at the country’s borders.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, 11,201 pounds of fentanyl was seized in fiscal year 2021, compared to 5,400 pounds of heroin. Other drugs seized include 319,447 pounds of marijuana, 190,861 pounds of methamphetamine, 97,638 pounds of cocaine, and 10,848 pounds of ketamine.
2,158 pounds of fentanyl has been seized in fiscal year 2022 to date, compared to 277 pounds of heroin.
The amount of heroin seized at the border decreased from 5,763 pounds in 2020, while the amount of fentanyl seized has exploded from 4,791 pounds in 2020.
“Not only were fentanyl seizures at the highest level ever recorded, but fentanyl overdoses within the United States also hit new highs, indicating the success that transnational criminal organizations had in pushing their deadly products to the public,” reported The Washington Examiner. ..."

Chinese are not forcing the Americans to use the stuff .

There is a peer pressure, accidents, or just stupidity.
But once someone is hooked, it is very hard to get out of it.

There is a area gov. should address and it does not, not enough. Therese 100,000 overdose deaths, that’s more than guns, murders, cars and accidents all together.
As a matter of fact, presently, there is not too much of “Don’t do drug” out there. I hardly hear this anymore.

People can use whatever “excuse” they want to for taking drugs......and Adults know very well to be more than a little cautious with prescription drugs.... kids know not to start. They choose to “take” what they’re given....they aren’t forced.

The DEA has worked with Chinese narcotics police for over 30 years. The DEA has known about fentanyl problem since at least 2005. CDC mis classified ALL fentanyl and analog deaths as prescription opioids deaths going back to 2005.
We need congressional hearing on DEA malfeasance and complicity with China and the cartels.

I am glad, I have never tried, but I know a lot of people who were smart, gifted, hard working, etc. who totally wasted their lives when they got hooked.
This drug epidemics is destroying our nation and our best! Something has to be done!
At least the gov. should promote the antidrug culture. It seems lately doing just the opposite!
Running names doesn’t change anything....names don’t matter, neither does ones life success or failure on the decision one makes in the drugs they put in their body.
As for the gov. support...LOL....I wouldn’t call supplying needles, Narcan, and places to shoot up their drug of choice ..”support”....I call that enabling the drug adidict to continue his addiction .

Basically, the current approach to drugs is NOT working.
We need a different strategy! Nancy Reagan seemed to had the best idea.
But we also need to go after the drug dealers, China, smugglers and, most of it, make a real campaign to make sure everybody knows how terrible choice they are making!
Some kind of radical anti drug propaganda war!
Ignoring or even tolerating the problem is not possible.
Like I mentioned, the drugs are the biggest killer of younger Americans. More that murders, guns, accidents and cars together!
Yet, they are basically ignored by the media and gov. Just closing their eyes and pretending that nothing is happening.
Well nothing will be done under Biden apart from appeasing the drug industry and it’s users and distributors.
Addicts are a result of lackless laws and failure to enforce the laws that are. IMO dealers should be executed...including those who sell to enable their addiction.
