Maybe but it’s a narrow field. I ain’t voting for a democrap.
The Hill?
Cruz would be more effective as AG.
If Trump keeps pushing and bragging about the shot, who knows what could happen
Cruz is needed in the senate. Trump will run, probably a 95% chance. If he doesn’t run Ron DeSantis will.
Cruz could be good but you would prefer to have a nominee that you knew would be good rather than waiting to see what you actually get. As a Canadian myself I don’t think the Canadian connection is that big a deal breaker because Ted Cruz seems to have imported very little liberal Canadian attitude and as I understand it he was only there briefly as a kid so the carryover might be minimal. I would be more concerned with faint centrist tendencies that might make him less likely to take principled stands that are going to be required.
Perhaps the real answer, if Trump says he doesn’t want to run, and de Santis likewise, would be to have a “Freedom Party” convention and pick a candidate from all willing individuals based on a job selection principle rather than these tedious candidate debates which really reveal very little about how people might serve in office. You need to find somebody who is capable and committed to basic principles that won’t be modified to suit the media or the political establishment after election.
I would agree that Ted Cruz might best serve as AG in that person’s administration. But at the same time, obviously Ted Cruz would be a far better president than the illegal one now serving, so if it became a choice between Ted Cruz and let’s say Kamala Harris or AOC or HRC or any other nut case they can find, then obviously Ted Cruz.
Also, I don’t see where Ron Paul has any real chance to take a national party’s nomination, he would need to run as a Libertarian and take his chances, probably might increase the Libertarian vote slightly to around 6-8 per cent. That would not help anyone in America though.
The chemistry!
Cruz would squashed by Trump or DeSantis.
Yep, The Hill.
Always our best interests at heart.
DeSantis is very good for Florida, and we Floridians want to keep him here. Find your own national candidate.
Why do you insist on posting a logical and sensible post instead of knee-jerk 1 liners?
Dream on lyin ted, dream on.
Historically, Senators rarely be come President. Biden being one of the exceptions. After one year of Biden, one can see why history is correct.
If he wins and doesn’t shave off his beard, he will be the first president with a beard since Benjamin Harrison.
1. There are maybe 4-5 states Trump won in 2016 that Cruz will never win under any circumstances.
2. That stunt he pulled in 2016 where he selected Carly Fiorina as his “running mate” was such a farce and a calculated act of political desperation that he’ll have a hard time getting any credibility as a serious candidate in 2024.
