It has been my opinion for a very long time that Democrats are want-to-be slave owners — it’s the foundation of their party and the only consistent theme in their history.
Since that’s completely unacceptable to people, their operation consists of lying like mad and behaving badly to appeal to the people who want a nice lie and to the people who want to behave badly. In short, the party of sin.
I am mildly pleased with the BBB outcome, due to efforts of Manchin and Simena, but I’m not getting too carried away with throwing praises at Manchin just yet.
I still think before Valentines Day, John Manchin will fold and crumble, having gotten his ‘fair share’ of pork from the deal proposed. I hope to be wrong.
A lot of these senators have an extremely high tolerance for drama, suspense and 11th Hour reveals.
The older ones don’t intimidate very easily, even when followed home by The Mob.
They will yield to the POTUS when they are darn good and ready, and not a minute before.

I think, think mind you, that you may be wrong this time. Potato Head China Joe, or whoever is running things, have made the mistake of making it personal for Manchin. First they protested at his boat, now they’ve called out their house servants to badmouth the Senator.
They had to lay off Sinema because the optics were terrible. Not so with the White male Joe Manchin. I look for more caterwauling about how JM hates blacks, women and the poor.

Of course this could all be kabuki theater dreamed up by Manchin and TPTB to give him some cover for caving.
