Trump: "I didn’t... because if you fire him [Fauci] you're going to have a firestorm on the Left."

100%
Operation Warp Speed...the invisible enemy...daily televised briefings...etc
Too much, over-the-top fear, and unfortunately President Trump oversaw this.
The real enemies are visible and in high places in our government. They really did a number on our president.
You have hit upon one of Trump’s weak points. For some reason, he picked (and kept) some really bad personnel. Let’s hope he does better in 2024.
Trump spent too much effort trying to get people who hated his guts to like him, leaving his base scratching their heads. His $500 billion "Platinum Plan" of reparations to black people is another example. What did it get him? A record black turnout with a whopping 8% of their vote.
Trump surrounded himself with people who never wanted him to be president in the first place. He spent too much time listening to Javanka and DC swamp dwellers when he should've been listening to Ann Coulter.
Violence wins every time.
So you let him play you, destroy your presidency, and with it, the country? Excellent. Great job. What does Jaaaaaaaaaaaaared! think?
Correct. Fauci has (unfortunately enough) been Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (i.e., one of the 27 institutes under the umbrella of the NIH) for decades. He is a career civil servant. He cannot be "fired" in the conventional sense, other than "for cause." On the other hand, as a career SES, he is not entitled to remain in his position as Director of NIAID if the head of the Executive Branch -- which, of course, the President of the United States -- removes him from that position. Trump could, and should, have done that immediately.
Meanwhile, what?, do you imagine that, as Director of NIAID, Fauci was somehow authorized to just wander into those White House briefings and press conferences on his own say-so? The Trump administration put him there. This is on Trump, period.
Trump's poor handling of the pandemic from the beginning is why we remain in this mess. Did Trump get bad advice? Sure. Did he also get good advice? Sure. Which advice did he ultimately take? Where does the proverbial "buck" stop, hmm?
That’s the problem. The right tempers its actions to minimize impact to the left while the left does things to intentionally provoke those on the right.
Appointing enemy Pence to the lead the White House Coronavirus Task Force was another mistake.
Well Donald. You should have fired the little bastard in spite of the left.
You have a poor sense of judge of character of those put around you.
I liked Trump, but what we need is Pinochet.
Personally, I don't like to throw good money after bad. Trump's ultimate problem is that he's weak. That's not something that improves with age.
They would have gotten so mad, they may have cheated at the next election
Certain firestorms are entertaining.
He doesn’t fear the left I don’t think. He recognizes their power. They have power over the presidency and likely the courts. That’s realism as opposed to fear.
The left moved in on every one of his staffers putting them in jail or turning them
However they did manage to take him out. The way he was taken out at least we know 2/3 of the voting population want Trump in the White House.
I’m sure Trump had to deal with snakes when he was a businessman, but the snakes in politics are on another level. I don’t believe he’ll be burned again.
TRUMP 2024.
BS excuse from the Father of the Trumpcine.
Lame excuse. And that’s all that is. An excuse.
Note that no one is suing him for libel.
You get that when you say or do anything.
