Uncomfortable private conversations in politics have a way of leaking out into the mainstream in the age of social media and mountains of gossip. One major storyline, acknowledged by all inside DC but only vocalized by a few in media, is whether anyone actually believes that Joe Biden is going to run for president again in 2024.
The question is, if not Joe, who?

I believe sadly and wholeheartedly that former President Trump plans on running again, and given the current state of my party that slobbers all over anything MAGA-related, it is unlikely there is anything or anyone that would stop him.
And could you blame the GOP for re-nominating even someone as controversial as our most divisive ex-president, when a new poll shows that 58% of voters don't want Biden to run for re-election in 2024 and only 60% of Democrats want him to run for a second term?

LOL! Is she wanting to rejoin the conservative party? I remember well all her words of praise for Biden. She voted for him, she and her Mom praised and supported him so her Mom could get a position in his administration, and NOW she want to complain? I get why Ms McCain would mention political parties.
But given that one of the very few main powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given the feds to dictate domestic policy is to run the US Post Office, most post-17th Amendment ratification, post-FDR era, so-called “federal” domestic policy based on stolen state powers and uniquely associated state revenues imo, state revenues stolen by the feds by means of unconstitutional taxes according to the Gibbons, v. Ogden excerpt below, the key question about constitutionally undefined political parties asked further down.

How many constitutionally undefined political parties and 2,600 page unconstitutional spending bills does it take to run the US postal service?
I say none, no political parties or unreadable, unaccountable, unconstitutional spending bills required.

Consider that all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.
Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.
Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.
In fact, I challenge the states to ram the repeal amendment for 16&17A through the ratification process faster than Nancy Pelosi irresponsibly rammed unconstitutional Obamacare through the House. /semi-sarc

FWIW, Arlen Specter and Jim Jeffords were Republicans. So was Dubya. But in his retirement, it appeared to me that he has become a Democrat. Meghan was only a Republican because his father was a Republican but now he's dead (RIP) it's safe to assume that she's a Democrat.
The Democrats could run a donkey turd and win with the billions of anonymous mail-in ballots they are warehousing.

How can anyone think FJB could possibly be a consideration in 2024? I don’t think there’s a snowball chance in hell he finishes this term, never did. He looks worse every day and barely maintains any real work schedule. Drugs can only delay the inevitable and prolong basic life function for a limited amount of time. He’s a classic case of one foot in the grave.

There is a concerted preemptive smear campaign going against Trump for his threat to them in the coming elections. You can see it everywhere. They are coming hard and Trump isn’t even out of the gate. DeSantis Vrs Trump? Waaaa? Who’s to say they won’t join forces and clean Washington’s clock. Get this place back on track and in shape.
