OH man, I saw LA and I was hoping for some live Smash and Grab action.......LOL!
There’s a spot very close to Logan Airport (Boston) over which arriving flights pass...at about 200 feet.In late 2019 I positioned myself there to try to catch an arriving Emirates A380 and I succeeded. He was so close that I could almost grab the landing gear. Also, there’s an airport in Saint Martin (Princess Julianna,IIRC) were 747s fly over a beach at about 50 feet. There are many great youtube videos of it.
Go to Founders Plaza at DFW airport in Dallas/FT Worth. The BEST spotter observation are inn the US! A park especially built for spotting.
I saw two A-380’s parked at the gate at Charles Degaulle airport in Paris, back in 2014.
Recent history posted to FR of blue ice contacting those "spot very close", several times.
?????
Watched a few of those. Especially like the ones where there is a hell of a cross wind.

KSTL Lambert USED to have a golf course just west of the airport, where, I SWEAR, if you took a wedge and hit it hard enough you could hit the airplanes passing overhead. SO low. SO loud. It was cools.
They took out the golf course, subdivision, etc. to put in another runway that way. There used to be great watching areas too. The 94th Aerosquadron bar and grill on the east end had outdoor seating, fire pits. Indoors one could don headphones and hear tower conversation.

We used to park at Love Field and watch my dad fly in on a Braniff 727 back before DFW was built.

Did a lot of plane-spotting at LAX back in the day...back when one could park near one of the approach light standards(yeah, long before 911)...that spooky sound from the wing-tip/other vortices...very cool.
A little off topic, but I’ve gotten obsessed with

I live near Pensacola NAS, Eglin AFB, Tyndell AFB, Keesler AFB, Coast Guard Aviation Training Center, and a couple hundred miles from Ft. Rucker (Army Aviation Training Center). We have AF and Navy T-6 Texans flying around constantly during the day. I’ve seen C-130 Commandos, Stratotankers, an E-6b Mercury, and several T-38s flying around the gulf. I saw three French Mirages over the gulf, two of which, based on their tracks, looked to be dog fighting and the third was observing. I’ve come to the conclusion that the most advanced aircraft (F-16s, 22s, and 35s) do not show up on the tracker because I know they fly out of Eglin (I’ve seen them while on vacation in Destin) but never see them on the flight tracker. Pretty interesting.
Does this mean Biden is headed to GITMO?
Do you still fly over the cemetery coming into STL?

Just flew out of LAX yesterday. We had to pause at the gate to have an unruly passenger removed.
