OK - here is a story very few people outside the Middle East can even fathom.... where the story of the movie is even better than the movie itself!
It is difficult to count the number of items in the Palestinian media in the last day around the issue of the film "Amira", a film that is expected to represent Jordan in the Oscar competition.
The movie plot is about a Palestinian security prisoner in Israel who smuggles his semen to his wife. To the chagrin of the Palestinians, the movie tells how a naughty "Israeli Zionist officer," replaced the inmate's semen with his own semen, so that Amira is the daughter of an Israeli officer and the wife of a Palestinian prisoner.
The film yesterday drew a wave of official condemnations from Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian prisoner movement, the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, the Popular Front and who does not. Many Palestinians, even in Jordan, have accused the film of promoting "normalization" ....

Jihadist officials don't want anyone to realize they've been doing the wives of jihadist prisoners for decades now.

Amira has two biological parents one of whom is the wife of the prisoner and the other if whom is the Israeli officer who subbed his own seven for the prisoner-husband’s.

Normalization of what?
I read it three times and somehow I couldn’t understand it.
The way it reads, Amira is “the daughter of an officer and wife of a prisoner”. But she’s the daughter of both, presumably.
It is indeed completely ambiguous!
Used to be that newspapers had proofreaders and editors to clean this sort of thing up, but it is hard to edit your own work and editors are few nowadays, so expect more of this.
Amira has two parents
Father is Israeli officer
Mother is the wife of the prisoner.
Engrish not so good.
