I have to confess that a lot of new music that I find and like is similar to old music that I like. However, over time my musical tastes have expanded. Over the years I have picked up an enjoyment for bluegrass, a number of genres of jazz, and even EDM (rather selective tho).
It’s not just you. I can totally relate to what you’re saying. My searching for good new music has come up so empty that I’ve changed strategies. I now mostly look for older music that’s “new” to me, and I’ve branched into less familiar genres, mainly older jazz and R&B, to find new stuff to listen to.
This guy does a great Beato style analysis of Stevie Wonder’s harmony. Bumped into it the other day and thought it was really well done:

Yeah me too. Here's a weird one. Whenever I smell a certain skunk odor it takes me back to like 5th and 6th grade. It smells just like the orange safety patrol belt I had. It was made of some type of rubber vinyl and no doubt stained by the sweat of dozens of kids. But it takes me right back!
You're right. It just seems sterile. Same with most of the movies. Few of them have any pull.
The late 1980s seemed to be the "beginning of the end." At least for me; that's when I started to find an aesthetic sea change in our pop culture.
You betcha. I’ll take any of those above the noise that passes for popular music today.
They don't like the new movies that much, either.
I have Millennials living with me, and they called it garbage.
That’s exactly what I’ve done. I always been pretty deep into music, so it’s hard to find any old gems I’ve overlooked, but occasionally I’ve struck gold.
I like a particular style, whose heyday has gone. Occasionally there’s a revival act that I end up liking. But it’s hard to argue that new music, written by committee, autotuned to flatness, and mixed for headphones, is not worse than older music.
Rock n Roll’s been going downhill ever since Buddy Holly died.
Sade is definitely not the first artist I think of from the 80s. I’m not big on her popular songs from the time.
HomosexualAgenda for keyword? Because of Elton John?
New music just needs talented musicians to perform it.

“I’m All About That Bass”
So Mr. Henley maybe ought to loosen his standards on that one.

So maybe you should consider pulling your head out of your backside, spend some time learning about music and STFU before popping off about something you know nothing about.
Fools like you are the reason idiotic gangbangers without talent are the reason talentless gangbangers are making millions from babbling about death, destruction, choas, mayhem, prostitution, and murder.
Grow up and get a clue, Idiot.
Why you mad? Because some people can’t read music and yet are amazing musicians? You feel like you wasted your time at juliard? I’ll light a candle for you.
En Livstid I Krig, or A Lifetime in War is a moving, epic masterpiece.
...some people can’t read music but are still amazing musicians...”

Yo! Dumbass! If they can’t read or write music and need to steal music from other musician’s, they are not musicians. They are pimps, whores, liars, thieves and whores. And idiots like you are complicit in perpetuating the destruction of intellectual progress.
If I were you, I would kill myself.
Email me your address and I will send you some rope so you can hang yourelf.
To my sense, they were never more than a jumped-up bar band. But some people can make a cult out of anything.
I suggest you seek professional help. I’m worried you’ll pop blood vessel and end up like Biden. With your extreme anger management issues you’d probably rise far in the dem party. I wouldt wish that on anyone.
And for fun, a few frauds who you can’t call musicians because they could t read music:
Iconic jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery
Iconic jazz pianist Dave Brubeck
The artist formerly known as Prince
Eric Clapton
Paul mcartney
Eddie VanHalen
I’m not on this list because i can read music and because I’m not skilled at music like all these frauds.
Young and old hate today’s music / noise.
