Whistleblower Warnings from the Poultry Industry

We are all familiar with the pending supply chain shortages and price increases. Not to pile on, but recently I was in contact with an insider whose family is in key positions in several poultry plants. We’ll call him “Elliott” to protect his identity. He would not let me name the plants his family worked for but did share that there were several, mostly in the midwest/upper south.

Elliott laid out some of his evidence in a lengthy Twitter thread where he said the “current situation is more dire than most people think.” He even went so far as to say we could see a “total collapse” of the food supply. I asked Elliott if his insider knowledge applied to other poultry or meat plants, and he said others were “running into the same issues.”

Would be nice if we knew what issues.

Worker and inspector shortages mostly because of vax mandate. The inspectors are USDA, so their mandate continues I guess. Many will lose their jobs if enforced.

For poultry, they have to process once the chickens are ready. Any delay ruins the financial results. If processing is constrained, then they have to constrain growing. Once growing is constrained, there would be a several week delay in the ability to restore the market.

Back in the day, it used to be that poultry processors were most concerned about a visit from INS. Whole plants would become abandoned when a surprise "raid" occurred. Those days seem to be long gone. Now they seem to worry the future holds new kinds of government raids: OSHA coming to check for vax and testing documentation. Oh what a crazy world we live in. Can't you just see vax documents reaching the level of I-9's? smh

I remember about 1972 or 1973 when the poultry industry collapsed. The news media showed scenes of the hatcheries dumping tens of thousands of new hatched chicks into garbage trucks. Those little chicks scrambling around touched a nerve on the public and there was a public outcry.

https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/1987/04/art5full.pdf

“Year-to-year movements in output were volatile. Be-
tween 1972 and 1973, output declined by almost 10 percent,
largely because of increased grain and poultry prices which
dampened demand.”

I am sure it is a dreadful emergency.....to him

But if it is not a b ig enough deal that he is willing to give his name, it is not so serious after all.

It’s been a month now, and nothing more than spot shortages. The ‘warnings’ are starting to get old.

I live near the world headquarters of Tyson.

I associate with many people high in the company.

The issues aren’t that bad yet. 3 more years of Democrat control may change that.

What scares me is transportation. I also live near the headquarters of JBHunt. This conversation comes up.

You may be able to guess where i live. I also have direct access to Walmart exec’s and retail whisperers. That also is going to be a pain point soon.

Real soon.

I stated it above: shortages of meat inspectors, shortages of fertilizers.

Whole family has jobs in these plants, at managerial levels.

It’s the whole point of a “whistleblower” that they DON’T give identities so they can keep their jobs.

The shortage of meat inspectors will be legit if the vaxx mandates stick, but that just means there will be less inspections....

...shortages of meat inspectors...

Not a problem!

We can ship the birds to China for processing and packing in filthy facilities where USDA inspector are not permitted at all.

The US government rules imposed from on high even allow the birds processed entirely in communist China to be sold here as "Product of USA".

America's chickens coming home to roast...
