Leaving California

I ran into an old California buddy online Sunday. He asked me why I moved to Texas.

We didn’t have a lot of time, so I gave him the shortest explanation I could: “It’s not California.”

For the 10 or so friends, all former Californians, who have moved near us in Texas in the last year or so, no further explanation is needed. In Texas 80 looters don’t pull their cars up to swankiest department stores and loot the place in broad daylight with impunity.

San Francisco is different, and has been for a long time, nearly as long as it has allowed urinating and defecating and sleeping and shooting up heroin on public sidewalks.

That town’s mayor said this week they are finally going to “crack down.” Will police arrest the thieves? Well, we will have to see about that. It’s still a misdemeanor in California to steal anything under $950 in value.

But they are not going to allow people to park cars near the stores. That should work -- as well as anything else in California works. It also should discourage paying customers and maybe clear the aisles for the looters.

We’ve been in Texas nearly nine years. We’ve yet to see a human turd on a public sidewalk, let alone a human depositing one. We’ve yet to see a mob of thieves swarm a store to take away as much as they can carry while police look the other way.

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott told NBC Nightly News stores must be willing to hire security guards to make a private persons arrest. How’s that working out?

Consequently, criminals, some wielding weapons and crowbars, load up, leave, then return for more.

New homes are being built across the street from us, and one family moving in is from CA. Our conservative friend a couple doors down from us met them last week and explained the (TN) facts of life to them. He was blunt.

1. Leave your California politics behind.
2. This is MAGA country.

Keep in mind that a big reason you don’t see all that bad stuff is because Texans value their guns. Don’t come here and try to do away with them.

California is one of only 6 states where the state Constitution does not have an amendment or clause protecting the right to keep and bear arms in some way.

The other five without such a provision are Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York.

Iowa is 80% of the way to adding such a Constitutional amendment.

There are still good places and good people in California. Don’t forget that. Texas has their liberal urban areas like Houston and other places. Texas is a great state but don’t be too confident. It could go code blue.

There are two Californias. One is the coast where all the power and money is, and the other is the inland areas where the normal, average people live, the people who are more like those who live in the Midwest. Will we be able to take back California and return it to being the great state it once was? I don’t know, but I am going to stay here and fight.

For all you that post the same thing over and over again about how we (in California) voted for this, you don’t know anything about California.

California is the third largest state. It really should be broken up into at minimum two states perhaps three.

Most of the population live in one of two cities, Los Angeles and San Francisco (and the bay area). Their votes are counted for Democrats.

The rest of the state for the most part is conservative and vote Republican.

Now keep in mind that California has some very large universities and since the voting age was lowered to 18 these simple minds have absorbed the leftest view of the world and vote Democrat (and when they graduate they return to where ever they came from leaving others to clean up the mess).

California is a one party state and they keep control the same way any dictatorship keeps control, they rigged the election so that (generally) only Democrats appear on state wide ballots.

California also has an initiative system where it is possible for citizens to get a law passed. However if the law does pass and the Democrats don’t like it they go to the state supreme court (Democrats) and rule the law is un- constitutional.

The watch dog media in California is more a lap dog to the Democrats.

So blaming the voters is like blaming the average North Korean for voting for their leadership. Californians have as much voice as they have.

Having said that, not everyone in California supports the Democrats but the only real option is to leave.

Now why do we stay? There is a lot of good things about California so it becomes a matter of weighing the good with the bad. It is a personal choice.

Yes I agree. Why dont thy stay and vote the losers out and CHANGE it back. But the criminal element has taken over so the average person is left to suffer. IF they move to another state-leave your California ideals in California

LMAO!! Crack down? They don’t even have the courage to call them “looters.”

Maybe “we” all should move there and run “them” off.

OK, good idea, you start it and write when it's safe enough for the rest of us to follow your brave experiment.

That state is so under the shit storm that the only real positive change will follow the San Andreas Fault dropping most of the Kalifornikators into the ocean.

Sorry, but gonna hafta kill about 25-30 million of those dopes and it's in the Hand of God.

Indeed, I just moved there. People should take heed. My neighborhood is crawling with alligators, pythons and spiders as big as dinner plates.

I just moved to Florida from Maryland. When people ask me where I’m from, I tell them, along with, “But I’m not bringing Maryland with me.” They’re usually glad to hear that.

.....actually, of the many former Californicators who have left that crap-hole of a state to move to The Lone Star State, we have yet to meet one who is a flaming-a**s liberal...virtually all of those transplants are as conservative as you could want...good for them; welcome to Texas...hopefully that fraud Beto [sic] O’Roarke won’t come anywhere near the governors mansion here in Austin....

A picture on line a while back showed a man pooping on the sidewalk, and not 25 feet away people were eating at an outdoor restaurant. I can’t believe someone didn’t just tip the guy over in his own feces. Should have.

“Florida is a terrible place. It’s a swamp with nasty creatures. Move to Texas.;)”

Texas is even worse! Everything here will either stick you, sting you or bite you. Rattlers, Copperheads, Cotton Mouths and Coral snakes. Mountain Lions, Jaguarundi’s, Bear’s, Coyote’s, Bob Cat’s and the always present Feral Hog’s, Javalina’s and a growing population of Wart Hog’s.

Worst of all is the Texas Oil Field Hand. They stalk the highways and backroads 24 hours a day, always on the prowl. They might be in Pickup’s, car’s and worst of all 18 wheelers, always driving like they’re late for something.

For all you that post the same thing over and over again about how we (in California) voted for this, you don’t know anything about California.

For all of your post about how ignorant we are about your shit hole of a state, we know every thing that you said we don't know.

Ya think we never heard of LA or SF or your high % of illegals, or how beautiful the state is?

The only thing we don't know is how you make the "personal choice" to stay in that political sewer where it is legal for illegals to walk into a Walgreens and walk out with a stolen cart full of $949 worth of stuff.

If anyone tried that nonsense in my western PA county, some armed citizen would stop them and if attacked by the thief, shoot the bastard on the spot.

The local DA would never think of bringing charges against the citizen.

Try that in LA or SF and the citizen would rot in prison for years before a trial.

Like you said, us ignorant people don't know a thing about Kalifornikator.

Your choice, enjoy Thanskgiving.

Any state can go blue, all it takes the a few high populous urban cities, look at Oregon. I was born on the east side of Oregon and the folks there are nothing like those in the Portland, Eugene and Salem area’s. Those cities and the surrounding areas hold the majority of the population leaving the east side of the state without a voice.
