Lauren Boebert Introduces the ‘We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act’ to Block Payments to Illegal Immigrant Families Allegedly Separated Under Trump

U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) recently introduced a bill called the “We’re Not Paying You To Break Our Laws Act” to block payments to illegal immigrant families allegedly separated under former President Donald Trump.

In a press release, Boebert explained, “In Biden’s America, it is better to be a criminal than a law enforcement officer. Border Patrol agents may be fired because of Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal employees, but illegal aliens get a free pass into our country and could receive a $450,000 check.”

“For contrast, the highest-paid Border Patrol agents make less than half that in yearly salary after 20 years of service,” Boebert lamented.

Boebert then insisted, “I’ve had enough of the Biden regime’s madness, so I introduced the We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act to restore sanity and the rule of law.”

“We should be putting Americans first, not criminals!” Boebert declared.

In a tweet where she shared a Washington Times article on the legislation, Boebert said, “Pay $450,000 of USA taxpayer $$$ to each illegal immigrant separated at the border? No way!”

Pay $450,000 of USA taxpayer $$$ to each illegal immigrant separated at the border? No way!https://t.co/oEETnFCcRh — Lauren Boebert (@laurenboebert) November 22, 2021

The bill reads:

No amounts may be made available from the Treasury for the payment of any settlement agreement filed in the United States District Court for the District of Ari2 zona in A.I.I.L. v. Sessions, 4:19–CV–00481, or any substantially similar civil action brought by an individual as a result of an action taken to enforce the memorandum of the Attorney General entitled ‘‘Zero-Tolerance for Offenses Under 8 U.S.C. §1325(a)’’, and dated April 6, 2018.

Previously, we referenced the Wall Street Journal and reported:

The United States Government has officially lost its collective mind. You heard me right. Yes, we do opinion news, but many may agree that that is a factually correct statement. Under the Biden/Harris regime, likely pressured by immigration pushers and radicals like U.S. Rep Ilhan Omar and others, is looking to actually give money to people who broke our laws.

Not only is the Biden administration not closing the borders and deporting all people who come here illegally, but he is also looking into seeing how much of our hard-earned tax dollars he can give some of this. It’s not a chump change amount, either.

Families allegedly separated under the Trump admin, who came to the United States illegally, may get $450,000 each from the Biden/Harris regime. This is more money than most American families who follow the law even have after decades of hard work.

Biden has not denied that potential payments may be made, although he has suggested that the amount of money would be less than that.

While it is unlikely that Boebert will be able to get the bill passed with the current make-up of the House, it is something that may get passed if Republicans can gain back control after the 2022 midterm elections.

Of course it’s grandstanding. The Republicans are the minority party right now.

It’s the only thing a minority party can do.

It’s grandstanding. Sorry to say it. She should introduce this bill while the republicans are in control and the bill has as much chance of passing as it does now. It least it might help us get rid of some rinos.

This article describes actions by the ACLU and the DOJ to identify "children" separated at the border.

US identifies 3,900 children separated at border under Trump

The Biden administration’s Family Reunification Task Force count of 3,913 children separated from July 1, 2017, to the end of Trump’s presidency is well below the more than 5,500 children identified by the American Civil Liberties Union in court filings, based on government information.

The task force said it identified “nearly all” children who were separated under the zero-tolerance policy but will review another 1,723 cases since July 2017, which would bring total cases examined to 5,636, close to the ACLU tally. The discrepancy appears to stem largely from a federal court ruling in San Diego that excluded 1,723 children who were separated for reasons other than Trump’s zero-tolerance policy, such as risk of child endangerment or questions about parentage. ...

Of the 3,913 children, 1,786 have been reunified with a parent, mostly during Trump’s tenure, parents of another 1,695 have been contacted and the whereabouts of 391 have not been established. Many who have been contacted were released to other family members.

The Biden administration has vowed to reunite parents who are still apart from their children, but the pace has been slow and it is unclear how high that number will go. The first four parents were returned to the United States last month, part of what the task force identified as an initial group of 62 people — 28 from Guatemala, 20 from Honduras, 13 from El Salvador and one from Mexico. Administration officials say 29 of the 62 have received final clearances to return to the United States, which should occur after travel arrangements are made. ...

The report provided data that hadn’t been previously released. Nearly 60% of children separated under the zero-tolerance policy were Guatemalans (2,270), followed by Hondurans (1,150), Salvadorans (281), Mexicans (75), Brazilians (74) and Romanians (23).

There is more in the article, but this is the fountain that the ACLU is using to ask their friends in the DOJ to settle with them, paying out these huge sums of our money.

Please note the 23 Romanians ... often known as Gypsies in a sane world.

We need more people who do nothing to tell the people who try to do things that they aren’t doing them right.

This person is nonstop theatrics.
Let’s see some action.

Let’s see a law passed or too, not just more red meat and OAN interviews, and fundraising for the next election and overall revenue stream grift.

Name quantifiable things she has absolutely obtained and set the lib agenda back and not just feel good optics to arouse the base with even more pitch letters and spam emails for more donations. That’s how it works you know. Bannon is a good example absconding with all the Mexican wall money for his own personal grafting purposes. (Which is what he got busted for) . Libs do this too.

to not give cash rewards

to criminals

breaking our laws

I like it !

We need

Doesn’t have a chance of passing until Jan. 2023 when the GOP takes over the Congress.

The attorneys at the ACLU will get their 40% cut for representation.

This is disgusting.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. They worked very hard to break those laws. They been everywhere, yeah. Across the deserts bear, yeah, traveling thousands of miles. They’ve been raped repeatedly and had condoms full of drugs shoved in divers orifices, and when they reach the US they get exploited as slaves to pay off the cartels. Does this mean that hard work is not rewarded?

Have to shake my head at some of the comments about this article. So what if it’s grandstanding? At least she’s keeping this crazy issue in the spotlight. You know how the liberal DemocRATS like to hide what they are doing. We all should be outraged and not complacent about Biden’s plan to give our tax dollars to illegal immigrants.

I’m all for spending that amount to bus them back across the border but not this crazy plan.

In a [so-called] Republican Congress it would never see the light of day. The UniParty leadership would order that proposal squashed faster than Biden rubbing his bony fingers in front of a young girl's chest.
