Politics in France this week President Macron's Monday night speech one where he proposed six new nuclear power plants as a means of putting France into compliance with its "climate" goals of reducing carbon emissions.
Macron also putting on hold the notion of "pension reform" in France while the COVID situation is still impacting France. The "reform" expected to cut pension benefits for millions of French citizens was a contentious issue that drove the early days of Yellow Vests protests in the country.
The political opposition in France including Mr. Macron's leading opponent in next April's presidential election Marine Le Pen saw the speech as a campaign event.
The procession today in the city of Aix en Provence just north of Marseille. Hundreds of opponents of coerced vaccination making their point with French flags, banners, signs and even bells.

This week Health Minister Olivier Veran appeared on the TF 1 news program at 8 pm the traditional venue for important government pronouncements alerting France to the notion that a "Fifth Wave" of COVID-19 is emerging in France.
In France daily positive test totals hit the range of 11 to 13 thousand per day this week, a sharp uptick but not as sharp as in neighboring countries like Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands where new restrictive measures are now in force or being considered.
