Yes.

Around 1980, I knew an Extra Class Amateur Radio operator who was way up in his 90’s. He was an incredible Morse Operator and operated before spark was ended.

He had a large, new looking rotary spark gap generator. Never saw another one, a real antique.

My first rig was a Galaxy GT-550A transceiver. Used it mobile and fixed. 550 Watts PEP. Had an Advanced license from 1976-1985, Got my Extra in 1985. Got GROL license in 2000.
