The New York Times has turned its sights on the middle class by asking President Joe Biden why Americans shouldn’t pay more at the pump to fight climate change.
The Times White House correspondent Jim Tankersley lectured Biden on how economists “say that, you know, when you raise the price of something people consume less of it” [d]uring the Question & Answer session of Biden’s speech following the G-20 summit Oct. 31. To that effect, asked Tankersley, “[W]hy not allow even middle class, uh, people around the world to pay more for gasoline in the hope that they would consume fewer fossil fuels and emit less?” Even Biden couldn’t justify the disturbing logic behind Tankersley’s question, even though the president’s anti-oil policies have already inflicted disastrous economic outcomes on the U.S. “Well, because they have to get to their work. They have to get in an automobile, turn on the key, get their kids to school. The school buses have to run. That’s the reason why. You know that Jim,” said Biden.

Interesting that he used the word “allow”, when he really meant “force”.
He reminds me of a guy from the neighborhood where I grew up who was killed when his car hit a bridge abutment. Of course, everyone wanted to think it was an accident, but the rumor was, because there was not any evidence that he tried to stop or avoid the collision, he did it on purpose.
That’s where we are with the Biden regime in the driver’s seat.
We should not live in large houses (climate change, equity, racist), so why not allow the prices to rise?
We should not waste resources on things like sports and entertainment (climate change, racist), so why not allow the prices to rise?
We should not do anything that the elites deem unnecessary or inappropriate (climate change, equity, racist), so why not have everything become more expensive? It would serve you right...
I would be glad to donate funds to put up billboards across the country on interstate highways near urban areas. Anybody else game and would be willing to get invested?
For those who forget there was a movement off and on with the extreme Greens for us to pay the same gas prices as Europe. It was always so out there that even most hardcore leftists wouldn’t join it. I guess that now even the most hardcore barking moonbat BS now has it’s day in the sun.
Allow?
What makes them think they have the right to “allow” us to do anything.
I didn’t ask their permission and I don’t need it.
