Help needed with Religious Exemption prep!
My company came out with a vax mandate and I have filed for a religious exemption. My initial request had the following statements... I received a message today that they want to have an interactive discussion about my request... The focus of the discussion is to learn more about your religious beliefs and restrictions, and discuss potential accommodations.
I am a little nervous as to what they might ask, how I might respond, etc. I don't want to lose my chance at an exemption by fumbling my responses. Any guidance and resources would be appreciated. Below is what I said in my initial request for the religious exemption.
"The Christian Church has condemned abortion, which is the killing of human infants while in the womb. I believe that life begins at conception and abortion is murder and a sin. There are many bible stories which provide God’s view, and therefore my view, of human life including that of the unborn. The Scriptures reveal that God knows us even before we are conceived. Any use or benefit of a murdered/aborted life is something I cannot have anything to do with. The use of aborted fetuses in either the development or production of these vaccines, or both, when my religious beliefs require that I respect all human life, including fetal life… I cannot, in good conscience and in accord with my sincere religious faith, take any such Covid vaccine.
All the Covid vaccines currently available were developed and/or confirmed using fetal cell lines, which originated from aborted fetuses. Taking a vaccine offends me and my deeply held religious beliefs and it makes me complicit in the sin.
I have not, and would never, knowingly take any vaccine that was developed or produced with fetal cells or other parts that have been harvested from aborted children. Nor would I knowingly take any medicine developed in the same manner. My body is a temple for my soul, given to me by God. I am reminded of the bible verse from Corrinthians “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” The violation of informed consent is a matter of religious conscience. Participating in such invasive, coerced medicine at any time offends the very core of my conscience and faith."
Ask the HR people where they received their Theology Doctorate since they claim to be able to judge your beliefs.

Fetal cell lines were used in testing all COVID vaccines. If you object to that, based on your religious beliefs, then you may have a religious objection to taking the COVID vaccine.
They may ask you about other vaccines. A reasonable answer is that you didn’t realize vaccines were connected to abortion until recently, and you are still researching that (if true). Do you do flu vaccines? Are you doing one this year? If not in general or just not this year, then that may be evidence that this choice is sincere and not just an excuse to avoid the COVID jab.
Good luck!
I looked up the name of the person on my email, and it appears to be from an attorney that works for the Chief Legal Counsel of the parent company that owns the company I work for. This is not an HR person. Now I am more concerned that this may be a set up!
Under the law, a “religious” exemption is validly granted under moral, philosophical, or religious (as in, organized religious) grounds. The sincerely helf belief does NOT need to be part of an organized religion, nor does it have to be afformed by clergy or any other person.

It is important to put your letter in your words. You are saying that YOU feel this way. Copying a form you find online isn’t going to demonstrate that these are your strong beliefs.
Go to the Facebook page of attorney Chris Wiest. He has a letter you can adapt to your situation.
Watch Peggy Hall’s videos and start with this one. They are only allowed to make a limited inquiry about your religion and your religious belief’s and they are easily established meaning you don’t have to go to great lengths to prove you are a Christian.

So if you are denied your exemption what is your fallback plan?
Good luck bro. It’s always best to be prepared. From someone who has been fired/let go/laid off many times, always look around and never be relaxed in the private sector.
FYI a friend did this and HR replied by asking him if he, along with his WIFE AND CHILDREN, had ever taken any vaccine that employed fetal cells in either testing or final product. Outrageous, I know, but they asked him.
Keep in mind that you do NOT need support or affirmation from any religious leader.
I would show up to that meeting with a surprise attorney in tow!
You going to pay the OP’s bills when he rolls out your claim?

It might be best to request in writing to receive in writing the info needed by employer.
You can check unknown or say not relevant or necessary. Put the burden on them at beginning ir they will keep sending it back to you over and over.

This is a religious statement invoking our Creator.
The "vaccine mandate" also violate the 1st, 4th, 10th, 13th and 14th Amendments at a minimum.
My company decided not to challenge my claim as yours seems to be doing but your talking points in your original post seem pretty solid. If this is what you truly believe, you should have clear sailing. I also had talking points ready in case I had an interview and I was prepared to walk - after 35 years, most of them in a management position.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out for you.
