Members of the EU Parliament held a press conference today 22 Oct 2021, to express their opposition to the vaccine mandates and their concern over the loss of civil rights and freedom.
MEP Christine Anderson, after emphasizing the importance of human rights, said: "Let me say this, I am not afraid of this virus. What I am afraid of is governments abusing this or any other «crisis» for that matter, to infringe on civil rights, to revoke them or to question freedom altogether.

I think you are right. It is not the EU Parliament. It is only a few members.
Communist dictators are known for holding their blind narcissism right up to their execution. (Mussolini in Italy, Nicolae Ceaușescu in Romania, etc.)
Sounds like these few members of the Eurpoean Union don't want to be part of the trials at Nuremberg II.
