The Dreaded Vaccine Mandate Has Come To My Company - Need Suggestions on Exemption Letter

Posted on 10/24/2021 8:49:10 AM PDT by SamAdams76

I can retire but I'm still too young to retire. Still 8 years away from FRA on Social Security, still months away from being able to tap into my 401k without penalty. But all my retirement planning has centered around retiring in my mid 60s - not the young age of 59!

So still got 5-10 years in the tank so far as my career is concerned. I'm at the top of my game and at my top earning potential. So I'd hate to give up over a million dollars in future earnings all because of some silly government mandate for a vaccine that I absolutely do not need and do not believe in.

So I'm asking for Freeper help in contructing a letter asking for an exemption to this absolutely insane and unwarranted mandate.

According to the edict put out by my company, all employees must be vaccinated by mid-December or face termination of employment. There are two possible paths for exemption: Medical and Religious.

A medical exemption is out of the question because I have been in perfect health my entire life. Not even a prescription other than a 2-week antibiotic I was given for a sinus infection back in the 1990s. Decades before COVID, I was taking vitamins C, D3 and zinc daily. For the past 20 years, I've been eating almost nothing but natural foods, recently adding raw honeycomb to my diet (to put in my whole-fat yogurt).

Over 30 years at this company and not a single sick day! I have probably the most perfect immune system one could want for. So why would I want to take a vaccine that I don't need and that might compromise that immune system?

I respect the decisions of those who decided to get the vaccines, everybody's situation is different, but I feel that I do not need it for myself and that it could only do me harm.

So my only option here is to seek a religious exemption.

Now I've been a lifelong Christian but I wish I could say I'm a perfect Christian, going to church every Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday nights. But I skip church way more than I go to it. Mainly because I see the clergy as flawed human beings like myself. For example, during this pandemic, they have had a mask mandate at the church my wife and I belong to and the pastor himself has encouraged his congregation to take the vaccine. So cannot abide by that and cannot ask my pastor to sponsor me in my religious exemption request.

But that is the only avenue I have and I owe the Human Resources a letter stating my desire for a religious exemption. Otherwise, I need to either get the vaccine or face termination of employment less than two months from now. Unless I can obtain an exemption on religious grounds.

I only have one shot at this and so I need to get my ducks in a row. I don't want to be disingenuous. I don't want to cut and paste conspiracy stuff from the Internet. I don't want to pretend to be something I am not. However, I believe there are reasonable objections for even a semi-practicing Christian such as mywelf to make a good case for being exempted from these "vaccinations."

Such as fetus cells being used in either the production or development of these vaccines (my wife and I are ardently pro-Life). But I'm hearing this line of argument could potentially be challenged by HR as many other over the counter medications like cough medicine and Tylenol have fetal cells. Both of which I have taken in the past but certainly not on even a regular basis. In fact, it's been at least a decade since I took either.

So I'm looking for a cogent argument against this vaccine that will pass muster with my HR and Legal Department - on religious grounds. As I'm sure they will need to justify their exemption to the jackboot government.

Now I'm not simply an employee at this company but at the executive level. So I need to come at this from the angle of supporting the company's policies overall while seeking an exemption for myself. A bit of an awkward situation.

I plan to take the tack of not outright refusing to take a vaccine but simply not taking it at this time until certain concerns of mine are resolved. Such as waiting for more time to pass to gauge the long-term effect, waiting for a vaccine that did not have fetal cells in either its development or its production, or until such time my personal medical situation warrants it.

Anyway, I know there are some great minds on Free Republic so would like to pick your brains on this. That said, I also know I'm opening myself up here to inane and insane comments from other Freepers. Which is all fine with me. Just looking for some input and I feel that other Freepers are or will be soon in the same type of situation I find myself in.

Lastly, my company is between a rock and a hard place. They never wanted to mandate their employees but their hand is forced because 40% of our revenues derive from public sector contracts - such as military, government agencies and schools.

My goal here is to get an exemption so that my company can say they are in compliance. Otherwise, it's time to get out of the rat race and spend the rest of my life reading books and taking nature walks - which I guess I'll be okay with - but I'm sure I'll have regrets later.

Have you had a flu vaccine in the last five years? Most docs rely on patients to let them know if they had a reaction to it. That’s your best bet. If you can make it work.

So, it sounds like you accepted the vax, because you or your wife have healthcare needs. That sounds reasonable, as I expect you are going to have to get jabbed to get any healthcare, the way things are going.

The OP says he is healthy and does not want the vax. How does your laughter help? He is not in the same position, at all, as you are, it seems.

There are many reasons to get out, now - to have gotten out already, if you are not already dependent on healthcare to live. I don’t expect your 401K to survive this administration, for one. Which way do you imagine your taxes are going to go, now that FedGov is nakedly illegally operating? Lots of reasons to leave, if you can, so it is not at all funny. I wish it were a choice everyone could make.

I have slight HBP and was overweight but have since lost the weight.
MY wife is 5-7 and 125 lbs and on zero meds and zero health conditions.

She was top of her veterinary class and has done numerous disease, germ and plague papers and speaks at continuing education classes on the subject and with her research she thought it was best we get vaxxed.

I will take her advice over people who has zero knowledge and only reads from certain sources.

My son’s situation is his company says they will accept religious exemption but will still fire him if their clients don’t, so his thinking is to put all the info out there and let them do what they are going to do.

He already has a company interested in hiring him (and some of his coworkers), at a higher salary and position, that does not mandate vaccines. He says the only reason he does not leave now is his current employer has been good to him in the past and he wants to give them an opportunity to do the right thing.

So, I know a lot of people say shorter is better, but my son wanted his letter to be packed with info - he had a lot he wanted to say so I helped him research and write one. It’s here: https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3999503/posts?page=5426#5426

[[Do you have a Plan B if you want to keep your job?]]

It’s pretty stinking sad that we went fro being such a great nation where people were happily employed, not worrying about the future really, because we were fairly assured that jobs woild be there for us, to where we now are having to plan on plan b and plan c because our employers are forcing so many able bodied, experienced and skilled workers to either get vaxxed against their wills, or get fired.

I think there should be a national “walk out of work week” for everyone that doesn’t wish to get the vaccines (heck, they are gonna be fired anyways, why not wa.k ljt en mass, cripple business all, across the nation for a week as a form of massive protest, and give them a taste of what life will be like for their businesses when they don’t have the workers to keep, the business afloat because of an asinine vax mandate.

I just can’t beleive that we are forced to even be considering how we are gonna carry on once the “great purge” of unvaxxed workers happens. This is like some freaking Sci fi futuristic movie playing out real time here.

The doctor or nurse won’t give you the shot.

The minimum wage CNA or intern gets delegated that task.

I support those standing their ground on not wanting to get these shots but it’s unbelievable how many FReepers are detached from any sort of reality. Some of the advice here is absurd and you can tell many are out of the workforce and don’t have to really think about the consequences of taking their own advice.

I’m wondering if the market is going to shift—if older workers who are used to showing up to work every day on time without demanding the moon will be more sought after than kids who think the world owes them millions of dollars because they have a heartbeat. Will be curious to see if there’s a trend like that.

An expert on the Constitution could probably pin point it, but the administration and others are using the “public health emergency” to override everything. The public health protection argument is being debunked daily, however.

Yep, the cavalier attitude of just “hey just quit your job or become a sub contractor” when you have 2 kids in college, mortgage, car payments to be met.

Eady to say this when retired as you say

“If the original poster needs to show proof of vaccination, of what help is your advice?”

He told them he was vaccinated. When he sues for wrongful termination, he can say “I told them I was vaccinated”. Saying “I am vaccinated” is a form of proof.

They want access to his medical information which may not be appropriate. What if the company asked “We need proof that you are not pregnant”? This is all unchartered territory

If your employer is not denying exemptions, they can make this easy as “check the box.” You seem to indicate that your employer doesn’t really want the mandates. If this is the case, the employer can make it very easy on employees. The fight occurs when the employer really wants to impose the mandates and then they fight the employees and deny exemptions.

In crafting a letter, the standard is YOUR personally held sincere beliefs. So you have to articulate what you might believe.

Some Christians are opposed to the use of the HEK 293 (Pfizer and Moderna) and PER.C6 (J&J) fetal cell lines in either their development or research and testing stages.

Be prepared for the “BUT BUT TYLENOL!!!” line if you go this route. I think that you can make a meaningful distinction between Tylenol, which long predated the cell lines, and these vaccines, which were developed and tested in their earliest stages with the fetal lines.

For example, there is a distinction between the use of fetal lines in the development and testing of new drugs, that isn’t the same when psychos take existing drugs and then test them on fetal lines. The later isn’t developed from or tested on the fetal lines in the process of developing the new drug.

Some Christians are also opposed to the mRNA process for vaccines altogether. An argument can be made that only God has the right and the power to manipulate mRNA and instructing your body to do anything on the cellular level. One can make a meaningful distinction between an attenuated whole cell virus vaccine and one that used mRNA.

Some Christians argue that this is a precursor to the Mark of the Beast.

Other Christians can argue from the spheres of authority.

It all depends on what you believe.

There are doctors online that will provide exemption letters after an appointment

If company tried to dispute a medical exemption they are risking getting into ADA violation territory
