President Joe Biden Wednesday released the following statement as Senate Republicans blocked the Democrats’ ‘voting rights reform’ bill for a second time:
The United States Senate needs to act to protect the sacred constitutional right to vote, which is under unrelenting assault by proponents of the Big Lie and Republican Governors, Secretaries of State, Attorneys-General, and state legislatures across the nation.
It is urgent. Democracy – the very soul of America – is at stake.
Today, Senate Democrats would like to start debate on the Freedom to Vote Act. Senate Democrats have worked hard to ensure this bill includes traditionally bipartisan provisions. But Senate Republicans are likely to block even debate on the bill, as they have before on previous voting rights bills. It’s unconscionable.
The right to vote – to vote freely, to vote fairly, and to have your vote counted – is fundamental. It should be simple and straightforward. Let there be a debate and let there be a vote.

And the right to have our votes counted fairly includes standards such as voter ID and tight controls of official ballots in an election. If we have someone stuffing the ballot box, then our legitimate votes are diluted and overriden.

What’s unconscionable, is that so many of the so-called Republicans voted to accept Biden’s election, and unlimited voter fraud on January 6th.

Well, as we saw with the meltdown over the Georgia voter law, these liberals have a weak grasp of logic and reality. Their pronouncements that it was the return of Jim Crow is easily factually refuted, yet, the MSNBC crowd was fed the pablum that Jim Crow laws are back, and they believe it.
Heck, even an institution such as major league baseball, moved the All Star Game from Atlanta to make a half baked political statement. An irony is that moving the game to Denver put the game in a state with more restrictive voter regulations than Georgia.
But facts don’t matter. All that matters is the political statement.
The people demand voter ID. It isn’t an infringement on anyone.
