Check out “Russian Fireplace.” Massive central stone fireplace. One fire built in fall, takes a long time to heat the stone, but radiates heat all winter with minimal mmmaintenance or added wood.
Thanks.
IHS analyst Edgar Ang told attendees during a virtual presentation on Tuesday that US propane inventories are at a record low
Why?
I heat my full-time 5th-wheel trailer with propane, but I buy from CoEnergy, a local company based in Albany, Oregon. They drive a tanker truck 150 miles to the pipeline terminus in Bend, Oregon for fuel. That makes them much cheaper than the big companies you named.
Why are inventories low? (As per article.)
Thanks, I didn’t know Costco sold tanks/propane.
Did you pick up any tires today?
Bring your maul and you can help me split the 24” yellow birch in my wood pile. It’ll be a great workout for you and very entertaining for me. Oh by the way, don’t forget to pack a lunch.
Ping.
No better time than the present to get your tanks filled up.
Anyone watching the world situation should have had it done by now.
This is a good wood stove that uses the stone idea.
Woodstock Soapstone Company Inc
The soapstone holds the heat and radiates it back very steadily and evenly while the catalyst promotes very efficient burning of the wood by burning the smoke and gases the wood puts out once it’s up to temperature.
We have one that came with the house and LOVE it. The small amount of ash we get from a good burn is impressive.
They are expensive, but IMO, worth it.
They are based and built in NH. American made.
Inventories are low because TPTB want a shortage.
Wait. Wasn’t Globull Warming supposed to lead to . . . warming?
Thanks. Very nice!
I filled my 500 gallon tanks at $1.79 last month. This is enough for 2 yrs unless we lose electricity for a few days and the genny kicks on for a few days.
Ours is the Keystone.
We ordered an extra ash pan to swap them out in between loads but not cooled off, extra gaskets, and an extra catalyst. What with the situation these days, we figured extra spare parts could be critical.
The new catalyst helped tremendously and so mr. mm thinks we should get yet another one because we don’t seen any good thing down the road for the next several years. We want to get the stuff while we can and our money is worth something so we can afford it, and while we have the money.
We’re as full as can be and we’re still on a credit from last season, so we should make it through.
I’m going to call my Propane Guy and see what’s up, just to be safe.
Wall heater with electric back up with kerosene backup with future generator backup.
