Tom MacDonald is a former semi-pro wrestler turned rapper. Some of his more recent hits include the song, "America" linked to this post, along with "Brainwashed", "No Lives Matter", "People so Stupid" and "White Trash".
MacDonald takes on the current state of affairs in America with most of his songs, and so far, the American rap music listening public is loving MacDonald just as much as he loves this Country. Over the last few months, MacDonald's songs have racked up numerous Billboard #1 spots, multiple top spots on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and others, beating out Cardi B and other lamestream musicians. He is completely independent, meaning he doesn't have to bow to the music industry, who largely support leftist causes, ideals and musicians.
He also happens to be Canadian. Never thought I'd see the day that a Canadian loved this Country more than half of America.
Even if you aren't fond of the rap genre, do yourself a favor and check out "America", as well as these songs. If you can't appreciate the music itself, I'm sure you'll appreciate the lyrics, and what he is doing in today's guns, drugs, bling culture.
I discovered Tom when Snowflakes came out earlier this year.
Never liked or listed to rap.
Went on a video watching binge and was amazed that somebody this talented was out there.
Look forward to every new release.
Castles is one of his older ones that I like.
I only heard Fake Woke. Thought it was great. Not really my genre but I got the message. Maybe worth listening to a few more of his.
His story is really cool, and the music even better. I got hooked on his stuff last year after hearing “White Trash”.
You should! Check out People So Stupid. I think you'll enjoy it.
Let me preface by saying I love Tom’s message. I’m going to offend some people here. Only white people think what he does is good rap and hip hop. It’s just lame white boy rap. He has no respect at all from the real hip hop community. Flame away.
If you or anyone you know have had problems with addiction/alcohol, his song, “Sober” is really good.
You're not wrong, which makes his huge wins in the music charts as of late even sweeter. He's beat out multiple "mainstream" hip hop artists on several occasions. Recently, he bought the NFT to Eminem's "Dear Slim" song and rewrote it himself. That had to piss off the midstream hip hop community pretty good. Lol.
Pardon, “Dear Slim” was the name of the song he did. “Dear Shady” was Eminem’s version, I believe.
I can’t stand rap but will listen at least once to everything this guy puts out. He’s a patriot.
I didn’t have a problem until March 2020. It’s only gotten worse since November.
Not sure that a decent person would care about respect from a bunch of violent druggie scumbags who abandon their children.
You might be interested to watch some of the “reaction” videos made by black folks in response to MacDonald’s songs. There is a surprising number in agreement with the sentiments expressed. Talk about your rabbit hole . . .
I have watched a few of those, very enlightening.
It's great, isn't it?
This collaboration with Dax is very good, best line: “Went to bed with the American dream, woke up in Nightmerica”

The other one they did together is also very good, Blame the Rappers
That's a good thing. The "real" hip hop community doesn't respect itself -- they trash and shoot each other dead all the time -- so no biggie. Besides, I don't think Tom cares what the "real" hip hop community thinks about him.
>> Flame away.
Rap is kinda a hybrid of music and poetry regardless of writer/performer and quality.
AFAIC, rap is not exactly music and therefore not musically offending.
The “real” hip hop community doesn’t respect itself -

I totally agree with you about that comment, but that’s not quite the point I was trying to make.Just like rock and roll, the blues, jazz, ragtime, etc, black people invented it. It is their music and all white hip hop artistes crave validation from the black community. If Tom didn’t want their respect, why does he talk, dress and try to rap like them.
Yelawolf is a white rapper who has their respect. They might not like his country boy shtick, but they respect his ability.
“Let me preface by saying I love Tom’s message. I’m going to offend some people here. Only white people think what he does is good rap and hip hop. It’s just lame white boy rap. He has no respect at all from the real hip hop community. Flame away.”
Total bs. He has various forms of rap. The reaction videos of many blacks would indicate otherwise.
