Remember when John McCain was hailed by the Democrats for being a "maverick" because he often voted against his own party? Well, now that Joe Manchin (and Kyrsten Sinema) are opposing the $3.5 trillion Reconciliation Bill, the Democrats are most definitely NOT calling him a maverick. Instead they are calling him a lot of other unfriendly names as Manchin Derangement Syndrome goes red hot.
PING!
I cannot think of another DC Dem who has ever done the right thing when it pisses off 99.95 of their own party.
I was convinced there were no more sane Democrats left. Seems I was wrong.
The Cave will happen. It’s just a matter of time.
Manchin is halfway there. He is already fine with spending $1.5 Trillion of borrowed Chinese Money and he hasn’t said squat about the Illegal Invader Amnesty and sanctifying the DEMONCRAT Election Fraud aspects of the original Bill.
No, that was Sairy Palin that called him a maverick.
Get it right.
Joe is waiting for a few billion for his state. That’s all this is——a hold out for state $$$$.
If this passes, we are seriously screwed-—there’s so many bad things in this bill it’s concerning.
Switch parties hell. Got enough rinos in the GOP.
If I were them I should go Independent. They’d have WAY more clout. Especially in a divided 50-50 Senate.
But, its all about committee assignments, I will grant you that.
Nope.
The “maverick” brand was affixed to him during his 2000 primary run for the presidency by the DNCMedia—where they were trying to get George W. Bush defeated.
Palin simply called him that after it was a well worn nickname.

I agree, I’ve been saying all along they are playing possum. Manchin and synama are following the playbook they’ve been handed by their leadership. When the opportune time comes, they will cave, and it will be hailed as a victory after a long fought battle. Its been the plan from the beginning.
On the other hand, it is entertaining to witness how they treat their “mavericks”
A lot of rumors that Sinema might go this route.
Well, perhaps even earlier than that:

Both of these phonies voted twice to impeach Trump. They are both pathetic. They actually haven’t voted against anything but they are both getting hailed as mavericks, willing to buck their parties to do the right thing. Exactly what they’ll need to get reelected. Look how willing this board is to go along with their shtick
Which party would she caucus with?
Manchin made a very sound economic argument when he called the $3.5 trillion spending bill “fiscal insanity”.
When truth is spoken it remains truth even when you hate the people speaking the truth.
See tagline.
It started way before Palin came on the scene. Apparently, you’ve never heard of Rush Limbaugh.
Get it right, grumpy.
The MSM should say, Enemies of Socialism at this point. This is all there is.
His "threats" are nothing more than a negotiating strategy to capture more of the loot.
Manchin a maverick ...like McCain ... I assume Washington Post bimbos are fawning over him like they did over McCain, right?
Yeah yeah I know better. The press fawning over McCain was a way of expressing hatred for Republicans.
That said, it looks like Manchin is going to save the country. With all the supply chain problems we might need that extra money to save the lives of citizens. And export the millions and millions of illegals that will be flooding the country over the next two years.
It was the press too... they called him a maverick for years.
