General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, prevented Donald Trump from invoking the Insurrection Act against Black Lives Matter during their 2020 riots.
Milley, according to Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s new book, ‘Peril,’ drastically minimized the riots to Trump, suggesting that they were mostly centered upon the use of “spray paint.”
Despite the violent protests spreading across the country like wildfire, Milley insisted that they had only impacted two cities and were peaceful, echoing CNN’s absurd description of the riots as “fiery, but most peaceful.”
“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection. […] We’re a country of 330 million people. You’ve got these penny packet protests,” Milley told Trump.
Milley reportedly informed Trump that most of the riots drew just about 300 people and that they paled in comparison to the 1968 Washington riots sparked by Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination and the Battle of Fort Sumter in 1861, which kicked off the Civil War.

That’s totally irrelevant in this context based on the fact you voted for Bush, then you turn around and bad mouth Trump for decisions he made. You’re in the glass house throwing rocks, not me.
General Mildred had his fingers in a lot of treasonous activities, didn’t he?
Who’s the last notable general immune ....seemingly so to this shit?
Franks maybe.....
Anyone ....thoughts...
Frank’s had his flaws too...just saying...he seemed less woke...
Certainly less woke then the previous public general Wesley Clark....
If you knew Bush was a Globalist in 2004, you would have posted about that.
Instead - LOL - your Free Republic archive shows that you made ZERO posts about anything in 2004.
Adios, troll!
I just read your Posts from 1999 and 2000.
You were a Pat Buchanan supporter, which was my very first suspicion.
I retract and apologize for calling you a troll.
However, as I suggested in a previous Comment, voting for Pat Buchanan in 2000 was the same thing as voting for Al Gore.
Your posts in 2000 were also extremely agitated by the possibility that the election would be stolen from George Bush.
Yet, 21 years later, you are criticizing me for voting for George Bush?
And what experience would he have to know what they are? You are walking into an unknown world and all you have to go on is recommendation from your own party. You are blaming Trump instead of the ones he hired. They betrayed you and I as well as Trump. The only reason we know the top military types are corrupt is because of Trump.
You are second guessing even though you won’t admit it, which makes you as untrustworthy as the people he hired.
Strongly disagree.
The reason we know is that the Democrats NEVER make an ideological mistake with senior level appointments.
Anyone promoted by Obama - military or civilian - embraces Obama's political philosophy.
The only reason Trump walked into an unknown world is because he chummed around socially with powerful Democrats and got treated well because he was a potential donor.
On the other hand, Trump's practical understanding of American political history since 1945 is essentially zero.
Trump - to his eternal credit - understood how to get elected as a Republican, something that no other Republican could do then, or now.
But the Democratic Party is an implacable force that eagerly and viciously destroys any individual who challenges their political agenda.
Almost 12 months after Trump blithely allowed the Democratic Party to destroy his good name and cheat their way to victory in 2020, Trump still has no idea what hit him, or why.
funny, in the ATL news I saw fires, looting, broken car windows, blocked traffic, etc.....very little spray paint.
Now doubt Woodward is not reliable and will cut and paste into his narrative as he sees fit.
However, in reference to the protocols involved as per “Col Dave Butler”, it leaves out the chief principal, the POTUS, as if that office would not be “in the loop” about such a call, and of equal importance about the “intelligence” “cause” of the call, according to the NPR’s description of the necessity of the call.
If all that were true, it is Trump who needed to be informed that the CCP was getting concerned, and if any call was needed to be made to Li, it needed to come from Trump directly, not anyone under Trump at the DOD. For the DOD to take such a matter into their own hands ONLY suggests that in the interim THEY may be in charge, not the POTUS. THAT IS a violation of our Constitutional civilian control of and authority over the military. THEY are NEVER to be or think they are in command, not even between elections and election results.
To me the DOD “defense” of Milley and the NPR description of how many outside of Trump were involved, then the entire high command was violating their oath of office. The entire episode, about the Chinese concerns as the excuse for Milley’s call, if true, was a matter FOR Trump to know, not a matter to be kept from Trump and handled without him.
You bet I was! ☺
LOL! Go back and read them from 1998 to present and report back!
Ya got to love it, you come in here bad mouthing Trump's decisions, and then admit to voting for and supporting Bush, a sellout, open borders globalist.
Gezzz
