The CEO of a hospital in Texas is cautioning that his facility is facing possible closure following President Biden's announcement last week that healthcare workers will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
If the mandate takes effect, the Brownfield Regional Medical Center will likely lose 20-25% of its staff, CEO Jerry Jasper says. Without those employees, the hospital will likely shut down.
The Biden administration has ordered that healthcare workers who staff hospitals and facilities that receive either Medicaid or Medicare funds must receive the vaccine or lose federal funding.
"It's huge in our rural community as all the other rural communities," Jasper said during a recent KCBD interview. "We all have high poverty levels and stuff like that, so a lot of Medicaid usage in our communities and stuff like that."
In addition to the healthcare worker mandate, Biden also announced he would direct the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration to enforce a rule for companies with more than 100 people that all employees get vaccinated. Federal workers and contractors will also have to get the vaccine.

You’re right. And their policies are nothing short of outright sabotage.
It’s not an isolated problem. We’ll be seeing this in hospitals across the US.
At my hospital I talked to a nurse- worked covid unit for 9 months- she said they thought we were incredible a year ago- now we’re being threatened. She loves her patients, and she has decided against the vaccine. She’s not alone. When you lose 10-20% staff, bad outcomes result.
“I thought the directive said vaccine, or, weekly testing at employees expense? what happened to the testing part?”
Here, in the Philippines, the nasal swab Covid test cost $100.00, and the rapid test, (blood test), is around $50.00.
I would think that since this is a requirement of continued employment that the cost of the testing must be at the expense of the employer. Making the employee responsible for the cost, (and time to take the test), are a violation of labor laws.
RATS attacking the poor and middle class while enjoying the spoils of the free market
That's a great, succinct response to any BS I might encounter from anyone who tries to excuse the dysfunctional, depraved "normal" out there.
It's been the plain, simple, obvious truth since time immemorial.
They know that it is not a REAL vaccine. It’s just a treatment for symptoms.
A REAL vaccine would be like rubella, mumps, smallpox which cured those diseases completely.
What the gov. is calling a vaccine is not a REAL vaccine. It’s just a stop-gap treatment with a lot of bad side affects.
Hold fast !!!!

Thousands Of LA City Workers Request Exemptions Or Fail To Respond To Demand For Vaccine Proof
The City of Los Angeles says thousands of its employees have failed to respond to a demand for proof they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have requested an exemption on religious or medical grounds. Vaccination reporting data for every City department was released by Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office after the NBC4 I-Team first reported Monday that thousands of LAPD employees indicated they intended to request religious exemptions to avoid a mandatory vaccination.
“Every City employee is required to provide their vaccine status, and the deadline has passed. Anyone who hasn’t given us that information must do it now,” Garcetti said in a statement. The City extended its first deadline from Sept. 7 to Sept. 13, and still thousands of City workers have not provided vaccination proof or filed an exemption request, including 7,846 Department of Water and Power employees, 3,997 Recreation and Parks employees, 3,856 police employees, and 1,553 fire employees. Out of 57,476 city workers the data shows 5,183 have requested religious exemptions, and 2,651, or 51% were filed by LAPD employees.
The City was still negotiating Tuesday with labor unions to work out disciplinary procedures for employees who either fail to report or refuse to be vaccinated, a senior City official said.

Great info. I wonder how their 20k trash cans are doing?
Thanks, I liked that.
Keep in mind this is a rural hospital, and it’s not Drs but “hospital staff” like nurses techs aides and cafeteria/cleaning people. And that misinformation/politics gets to even these people and you see what happens, it’s extremely unfortunate
I don’t think it should be mandated except maybe for health workers who come in contact with patients etc, but they should maybe want to do it themselves anyway

“There are a few doctors out there who are reluctant about the vaccines, but most are convinced by the official cost/benefit narrative. Many more won’t recommend them for previously infected.
But a ton of nurses won’t get it. They point to the vaccine victims they have treated. Given the number of nurses talking about treating vaccine injuries vs the supposed number of adverse reactions something’s fishy. And these nurses are willing to lose their jobs, so they are paying a hefty price for their stance.”
Question on this part:
“Given the number of nurses talking about treating vaccine injuries vs the supposed number of adverse reactions something’s fishy.”
What is the significance of number of people talking about treating shot injuries vs the supposed number of adverse reaction to the shots?
Are there fewer adverse reactions being reported than what is being seen by the nurses?
Exactly - what some medical doctors are calling “genetic modifier” - it puts stuff in your system that has nothing to do with the virus; there are no dead virus’ in the jab like in real vaccines.
Family Guy used to be funny but that was so long ago.
I haven’t seen a new one in years.
South Park has remained funny.
I know many here don’t care for it though.
The early ones were the best but I couldn’t stomach SP anymore.
The Covid one’s were funny, but raunchy too.
Hello Philippines!
There are supposed to be other 10 minute tests coming out, but for now, some American brand names here. If you go with the 2-test kit, the cost for 4 tests a month would be about $50/mo (which would be unreimbursed medical expenses on the itemized tax return, btw):
Walgreens: Abbott’s BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Self Test (2 tests for $23.99), QuickVue At-Home OTC COVID-19 Test Kit (2 tests for $23.99)
CVS: also has Binax and quickVue at similar pricing, and a third option, Ellume (single 15 min test for $38)
Walmart: Binax (2 tests for $14), Intelliswab (2 tests for $14), Ellume (1 test for $26.10), and QuickVue (2 tests for $24.95)

Y’all need to put pressure on employers and jurisdictional powers to allow these OTC tests as valid and a more accurate spot-check over waiting 10 days for a lab to process backlogs for results that may no longer be valid 10 days later. It just seems a lot more practical. Good luck.
What are you seeing as their plan? How will it play out?
Mainly using fear and causing a binary society for control purposes.
Us v them plays well to a large percentage of a society.
As for how it plays out, I don’t think non violent ways will continue. Destroying people’s lives and taking away their freedom to move, and to make a living will be a line in the sand for many.
I think it will be terrible and probably necessary.
