I agree with that. Also, I hope with the conference re-alignment, there will be less cupcakes for these FBS teams.
Yes. We know. Just having a little fun with it.
But they're still some of the most fun games to watch. I miss that rivalry.
Well, I blew that one...LOL...Thanks...
Key Facts. Texas and Oklahoma will start competing in the SEC after the universities’ Big 12 media contracts expire in 2025. ... Both the Texas and Oklahoma Board of Regents voted unanimously on Friday to join the SEC.
Plus with all the cable outlets, even if you are not in one of the 4 major conferences, you can still form a playoff format and get a television contract...
I worked out basically a Conference-less approach in which you divide teams into 11 7-team divisions based on geogrphic location, but it basically preserves the traditional rivalries. So it will mostly resemble the current Conferences, with some minor tweaks. So it cuts Division 1 down to 77 teams. All the other former Division 1 teams will go to the FCS.

So, you have 11 divisions. Each Division winner gets a bye.
To get the remaining five teams, to make it a 16-team playoff, have all second-place teams play in the First Round, seed teams accordingly. The trick is how to get five teams. So what you do is you have the two lowest seeds play each other in a “Play-In” to get to the First Round against the Top-Seeded second-place team.
There was a time I struggled with it, too, Like when Gilmore was busy putting the FL school on the map. Jacksonville, State is about 70 miles from where I live and I have had several friends attend there. Also, I had a former co-worker that lived in Jacksonville, AL, which is right up the road from Fort McClellan and Anniston Army Depot where they used to store nerve gas.
I just hate the fact that Big Ten homer, Herbstreit, has to show his mug after every SEC Shorts.
Well, accurately, “the” University of Texas should only and always abbreviated “tu” ....
My dad, an Austin graduate engineer back in the early 50’s, went to a UT-UT (University of Tennessee ) football game. In the mud. Both teams in Orange and White. Both muddy. Both wet, cold, and miserable.
Terrible game, but so bad and so miserable with so many errors it became funny.

A&M and Missouri went to the SEC for the same reason why Texas and OU are going - money. They don't care about winning. They want a piece of the SEC television payments.
Looks like an inside joke between the two. He taps her to look back at him. Those faces are a put-on.
I think Kelly really would have executed his team had he lost.
Oh, well, the good news for the ND faithful is that Urban Meyer should be available soon.
That would assume they knew they were on TV.
I remember when we played your ducks many years ago.

I was at that game and we had no idea in the stadium the call was wrong. One of our greatest comebacks.
Golfed with an Okie a couple months ago who still knew the name of the ref who made the call.
Yes we remember it well. Bad all around experience with the Pac 10/12 whatever.
Texas and Oklahoma have a signed agreement with the SEC to join and a signed notice that they leave the Big12 when their TV contract obligations with the 2025 season. They may depart earlier is the current talk prior to this game.
Texas has ruled the Big12 negotiations after the Big8 converted to the Big12 due to their dominance in the TV market. They still have the LongHorn Channel as a stand alone option. It was their media market money and not the quality of their program that gave them the gorilla clout with the Big12 administrators.
