How can you can listen to Ray Charles’ America the Beautiful sung at the 2001 World Series and not wipe tears away?
Tynan- a great story of a legal immigrant. I vividly remember when he sang at Yankee Stadium before Pope Benedict said mass there. Right before singing God Bless America, he announced he was about to to become a “citizen of this great country.”
Great job It was replayed over Catholic Relevant Radio during a talk show that included its first verse which identified it as a prayer.
